So, I have an OLED Switch 1 which is my primary console. (I also have a launch Switch 1 and a Lite and those I need to connect to WiFi in order to launch games as they are now a secondary console)

When I set up the Switch 2, will I have to make that the primary and all other Switch 1's will be secondary.....or can you have a primary Switch 1 and a primary Switch 2?

Have you updated your Switch 1 lately? Do so and read about the game token system or whatever. In the past you had to select a primary and secondary system and you had to connect to internet to play games on secondary system. Now I think there is like a virtual license that you transfer between units. Anyway, seen a lot of people ask this and assume they have not got the latest update on their Switch 1. Basically I think that has all already changed even for Switch 1.

It use to be redownload software but now that has changed to a token system that lists all your games and gives the ones on your system that are currently licensed for that unit a green dot.

I've been asking this same question for weeks with no concrete answers until I get it in my hands.

I am fearing that it's gonna force me to make only one console a primary because...Nintendo. Which is stupid! This is a new generation. I'm able to have a PS3, PS4, and PS5 all be their own seperate primary console for that generation.

Considering that Switch 1 BC may not be perfect, plus I have some DLC that I'd like to have access to on both consoles, I'm not really sure how I'm gonna handle it. If Switch 2 storage wasn't an issue, I'd probably be more fine with just using that as a primary, but the internal 256GB, and the 256GB card I'm getting will probably get filled with the game key card bull shit games on their own already. I have a 1.5tb sd card in my switch that's 2/3s full, and I own mostly physical.

Potentially we couldn't be getting much more third party support than Switch 1 had.

I was thinking of just making an entirely separate profile. Keep Switch 1 games on the Switch Oled and just keep Switch 2 for Switch 2 stuff and just any new purchases. I can always put the Switch 1 card in the Switch 2 and play the older games.

NS2 will never be my primary console because will sure lack some of the third party 60fps games.

In the other hand will be glad to play Nintendo first party games on there.

Lot's of people aren't reading the OP.

That's a good question. Hopefully someone can clarify tomorrow because I haven't heard anything. I imagine it will be like upgrading to the Switch OLED where you had to manually make that change to avoid the online check when booting games.
