Switch 2 "C" Button function allegedly leaked as a social hub codenamed Campus

According to datamining from admins from the Switch 2 Discord server:

>Datamines of the current Switch OS and exclusive SDK leaks have confirmed that the **Nintendo Switch 2** will have Group Chat and Voice Chat functionality codenamed "**Campus**".
This is what the C button may be for (unconfirmed, but I'm 99,99% sure.)

>Groups will support up to 12 NSO subscribers.
There will be screen sharing!

>Nothing like Miiverse. Vidmiio isn't real.

>Feel free not to believe this, of course. But mark my words: **it will be official in 48 hours**!

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
It’s the most Nintendo thing in the world to highlight a new and revolutionary feature like “voice chat” with a dedicated button in the year of our lord 2025 lol

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife

So, they'll be putting the feature under a paywall?

I guess there's no point in making a group chat if it's not to play online with them, but still, feels greedy.

Thank god it looks like a non essential button, so hopefully the switch 1 pro controller is supported by the switch 2

If true, then this is possibly the most boring device Nintendo has ever put out.

Even the Xbox Series and PS5 at least LOOKED significantly different from their predecessors.

Meanwhile, I'm not sure I can identify the difference between Switch 1 and 2 in the wild without a direct comparison.

Seems pretty likely. I think the rumor is that even the old joycons will be supported, though they obviously won't be able to be physically attached to the Switch 2 since the connection method has changed from rails to magnets and the new joycons are larger.

free to play games don't require NSO, so if you are able to play free to play games but not voice chat then this is just awful.

but then again, NSO is trash now, why should that change 🤷

I legitimately think that Miiverse is the best thing that happened to gaming since Super Mario 64.

Sounds very Nintendo. I’m interested to hear what that would mean for NS2O and their overall online infrastructure. My guess is still not getting a full fledged online platform like XBL or PSN but perhaps expanding the capabilities to allow more compatibility for certain 3rd party games.

I really don't care about online metaverses or online communities for Nintendo so really, a useless button if its for that, for me.

Doesn’t sound unreasonable. Kind of boring button though. Was hoping for something more interesting. But hey,

No way, no way. every other console was the home button to handle that functionality. You dont NEED a button for that.

Stop adding dumb buttons to controllers.
They have to. Nintendo's like a shark that has to keep moving, has to perpetually do something different even if it's the wrong thing.
They should have recognized their own peak design and stopped at the SNES controller.
Every console since the SNES would have been better if it had plug in port for the original SNES controller that people love.
The wired SNES controller would keep latency down while selling more units over the years than any other controller.
Nintendo could've offered a wireless variant of the SNES controller but kept the same original wired SNES plug port on consoles.
Instead of this we have a wide range of Nintendo controllers that are objectively less good (design wise, input latency wise, etc.) than the SNES controller.

Seems weird that it would be a "C" button rather than something more obvious like a headset symbol or similar.
