CES also isn't immune to the ongoing flood of Switch 2 "leaks"... well, at this point can you even call them leaks anymore? These are official product announcements after all.
But as you can see below:
this controller has the mysterious C button at the bottom. it also has a T button, which I assume is a turbo function, since that's a pretty common 3rd party controller function to have.
SO, what does this mean?
it means that whatever the C button does is NOT TIED to the right JoyCon or any of its functions.
it also means it is not tied to Handheld Mode, but also serves a function in either Tabletop or Docked mode, or both.
So this eliminates some theories people had.
like making the Switch 2 connect to the TV wirelessly and then acting like a Wii U GamePad. this now makes little sense as it's not something that works in tabletop or docked mode obviously.
or the theory that it stands for "Cursor" and activates the newly theorised mouse functionality of the joycons.
so, with the C button also being on the Pro Controller, it makes it more and more likely that it is indeed tied to some kind of chat functionality I feel.
especially seeing the positioning on at least this 3rd Party controller, as it's pretty much where the Mute button on the DualSense sits, and above where you'd expect a microphone jack to be.
