Just start making some games again please, Sony.
Ummm, where's all the traffic...Are they? I suppose it depends on how big your TV set is and how distant you sit from.
Well, let's see what the "average joe" thinks about it now that Switch 2 is available cause diminshing returns are kicking strong by the point we are today.

Not really, they're saying Nintendo's new system isn't good enough for TV play because PS5 is better. Which, well depends on if you require true native 4K graphics for your couch gaming or not. For me I'm good with either one. I played BotW for 200+ hours and my eyes adjusted and I appreciated it for what it was. Having said that, there's no question that had BotW launched on PS5 or Series X it would've been native 4K/60fps with achievements and SSD loading and wouldn't that have been extremely awesome to have that option, as a gamer. Not caring a whiff about a specific company's internal business goals. In other words "Nintendo is doing their thing, and that's cool. We're doing our thing."

Why stop there?
PC is ultimately king of graphics on a big screen.
You never hear Valve saying Steam is better than PSN, eshop etcIn breaking news, company producing Their Product says Their Product is better than Competitor's Product
Mario Kart looks very impressive visually and DK Bonanza is going to as well. This will be the 1st gen since the GameCube where Nintendo is within spitting distance of Series S power and their teams can show off more than usual.
No, you don't, you still have blurry very low res Switch 1 textures and shaders compilation stuttering. You can troll better
I'm happy for you. I do this too on my PC, but with VRR and native 4K120. Your point?
I mean, Switch 2 is a solid portable device, but both Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk 2077 are better off on PS5 Pro on any modern big TV screen. Trying to say otherwise is pure cope, like saying that PS Protal is a better way to play said games on the go.
Do you know what "completely different experiences" means?Have you tried Cyberpunk maxed out with path tracing at 60+ fps on a high end PC?
YesDo you know what "completely different experiences" means?
Okay, so you may have a point that colours are a bit better on HDMI 2.1.You can't even show full RGB 4:4:4 60hz 4k HDR, you are limited to 4:2:2.
With 2.1 you can show full RGB 4:4:4 4k 120hz HDR 4k.
RTX 4080 can play shit ton of games in 120hz 4k, the key here is DLSS for newer games. Something that Switch 2 also relies on. You also have VRR support so even drops from 120fps are not an issue.
See? This is what bothers me when people shit on Nintendo, whenever we bring PC to the table then those shitting on Switch start talking about each console features like price, comfortability, etc, etc.I believe Sony's argument is that they are the best TV experience for the money.
Of course it won't compare to a high end $2000 USD PC with RTX 4080/5080, or top of the line $5000 PC experience with RTX 5090.
Playstations have always been meant to be affordable for the masses, only exception being PS3 sorta. But the PS3 was cheap in its own ways back then.
Standalone bluray drives early on were $800-1000 USD, and PS3 was a whole semi high end system (not much ram, last gen Nvidia GPU, all else good) for $500-600 USD.
Okay, so you may have a point that colours are a bit better on HDMI 2.1.
If HDR on Windows even worked properly in the first place.
Yeah. Using DLSS performance or balanced so you're not rendering at 4K to begin with. It's not 4K.
It doesn't look like 4K quite often in my opinion. It's not 4k but it looks like 4k. PS5 don't render native 4k even at 60fps in most games and S2 upscales games from 720-900p native? What are talking about?
Even 1080-4k looks great with DLSS and with that why you would want to be limited to 60hz? HDR on Windows works just like on consoles - only difference is that you have to turn it on/off yourself, it's HDR10 with the same specs as PS5/Series X (and probably S2 as well).
It doesn't look like 4K quite often in my opinion.
PS5 doesn't use DLSS or FSR.
Out of the PS5 games I own, quite a few render at native 4K - albeit at 30fps or 40fps.
Switch 2 upscales from 720-900p? I didn't know that. I haven't been reading up / watching performance tests for it yet. Seems like Switch 2 is mostly only good as a handheld.
I've had numerous instances personally of broken HDR on Windows.
DLSS upscaling at 1080p looks crap to me.
Of course not, it's EA, Activision and UbisoftSony, Nintendo and.....
Valve?
Yeah, nah bud."Please don't stop buying PS5's now that there's actual competition ok?"
Some games use FSR on PS5.PS5 doesn't use DLSS or FSR.

Never insult the spirit of gaming. What the fuck is a portimble you fucking helmet?
HDR on Windows 10 has always been shit for me, makes my screens look weird.
Destiny 2 forced it on for me, took me ages to turn it offIt's not meant to display desktop, it will always look weird because desktop is meant for srgb. Switch is for apps (games) that actually use HDR10.
System is dumb but it works, end effect is the same as on consoles in games. It should also work like that - games should force HDR on themselves when launching and turning it off when closing (very few games actually do that).
And he's wrongIts like Sony is saying that PS and Switch are two different world, two different category.
Destiny 2 forced it on for me, took me ages to turn it off~
I don't think my monitor fully supports HDR (BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710S), looked bad even in the game.
Defend? Yawn.Opinions, opinions, I won't discuss that.
What I can't understand is why you want to defend much inferior standard? Even switch 2 would benefit from VRR and 4k/120hz output.
People care about games… Not game resolutions. That was a wrong answer.uhhhhhhh……… they're right?
Well, to be fair everything is better than the eShop. You never hear Valve saying Steam is better than PSN, eshop etc
