The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch versions of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will launch on July 10, developer Nightdive Studios announced.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster first launched for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store on June 26. The console versions were originally scheduled to launch alongside the PC version, but were delayed at the last minute.

SS2 is one of the top 3 best immersive sims I've beaten, and in the top 3 best horror games as well. I hope this remaster brings it to the attention of younger players who weren't born yet when it originally released.

Doubtful as it is not a remake with modern standards in mind. It should still be a treat for fans of the original.

I said it in the other thread for the PC release, but I went into System Shock 2 for the first time with this remaster and it is an incredible game. I'm not sure what compromises the console versions will make in terms of control scheme, but the underlying game is magic. Stick it out for the first bit while you come to grips with the mechanics and you will be rewarded immensely.
