It's funny that my top 2 are known for believing preaching is of utmost importance & there's no question for it. You take that out of the picture and there's no way to be a Jehovah's Witness.

I'm guessing the clincher was my refusal to believe in a trinity or a Hellfire which I share with Witnesses at least, don't know about Mormons.

It is really interesting to be able to relate how closely you relate to other beliefs in regards to main topics.

It seems that Christianity has about 60% of the same views as Islam. Interesting.

This "test" is too easy to trick to get the results you want. It's also extremely Christian-centric. Almost all of my answers were "not applicable" and of "low" importance because they don't describe me at all.

Even as a Christian I have to agree with this statement.

It was swayed to the Christian side. You could pretty much get conservative Christian by selecting the first option on each question. They didn't even bother mixing up the order of the answers in order to make you think.

It was definitely made by somebody coming from a Christian background.

I find that interest, since I was raised as a Witness.

I have a HUGE part of my family who are Witnesses and they definitely make the most sense out of the various beliefs/non-beliefs in my family although I personally:

1. Don't qualify
2. Don't want to do everything that's required to qualify.

It's definitely an all or nothing type faith imo.

That was my problem with it since there's no way that they included the primary beliefs of major religions as much as they contrasted them with the larger Christian denominations. I'm largely a Mormon and a Orthodox Jew?

I'd be interested to see if there was any difference in accuracy for the results of theists and non-theists. My gut says that far more religious people will be 'mis-labeled' than non-religious people.

this is a problem inherent in most classifications of religion to begin with. Hinduism can be classified like Christianity (if the correct language is used. For example, it is not correct to describe Hinduism as polytheist. Similarly to Christianity there is only one deity with multiple personas. And as an interesting side note it is largely because of this that I think Hinduism is more "Western" than "Eastern". However, that's complicated by the fact that I think both Jainism and Theravadan Buddhism should also be included under Hinduism... anyway, I'm rambling.... ). But religion within the Chinese cultural sphere cannot. A good example is Japan where everyone participates in both Shintoism and Buddhism - yet most people are non-religious.

I think you may be right there. The question I would like to have answered is if any of the people getting the 'wrong' answer have looked at the religion the survey suggests.

... why is that bad? If you demonstrate an ethical code consistent with Secular Humanism (let's say broadly progressive on social issues, belief in re-distributive justice, belief in human betterment through intellectual development and works for others), you should be ranked as a Secular Humanist before a Non-theist.

Non-theism is simply a statement about your affirmation/denial of God, not a statement about your moral code. There are many religions, philosophies, and associations that better represent a particular secular moral code.
But the way the quiz is, non-theism is incompatible with general beliefs about how people should behave morally.

Non-theism is unrelated to morality. Whether you believe abortion should be illegal, legal or mandatory doesn't say anything about whether you believe in a god/s or not and as such, your responses to the moral questions should not influence the non-theistic result.

Any quiz like this is bound to be unsatisfactory because—forgetting that they are often created by people with agendas to pursue, see: the World's Smallest Political Quiz—they are trying to reduce a complex reality to a series of banal, pre-determined questions-and-answers—see: the World's Smallest Political Quiz.

Interesting side-note, what is the plural of question-and-answer? Questions-and-answers or question-and-answers?

So rename "Non-theism" to "Non-theism, other than those non-theistic beliefs specified in the list" and the problem is solved. ;)
