Take-Two reported a $53 million cancellation of an unannounced game

If its the next installment of Bioshock I'll genuinely shit the bed.

Bully 1 was quite a big game. Could you make a sequel to that with 53 million dollars today knowing other games of similar scope cost more?

I've been looking online since I posted that and it appears the average AAA game costs between 60 and 80 million. While of course the juggernauts like GTA cost an estimated 200 million.

Interestingly Red Dead Redemption cost 80 to 100 million estimated in 2010. So an estimated budget of 58 million doesn't exactly confirm the cancelled title was Bully 2. But it's a god awful amount to waste on a project. You think it could be salvaged by throwing a bit more money in to it. I guess unless it was a total crap show.

Decided to play Bully once again on xbox one after this thread gave me the thought to. Good game.

I then looked up earlier about Bully 2. If all reported is to be believed, and if this cancelled game was in fact Bully 2, it would make it the third time it was in production.

First was shut down in 2009.
Second was shut down end of 2013.
Now rumored to be shut down again.

If all is true then sadly I don't think we will ever get a Bully 2. How many failed developed cycles and costs before 'enough is enough' is decided.
