During the Western 2024 Tales of Anniversary Celebration broadcast for the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Tales of Berseria Yoshimasa Tanaka announced that the fan-favorite Tales of Berseria has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.

Strong Sales in the West

In fact, half of those sales came from America and Europe, communicating the sheer vast appeal this series and this specific game have had over the years. Over two million units have been confirmed to have been sold back in 2021. This latest broadcast contains numerous other messages from staff members for other Tales of Games.

Played Berseria couple years ago. Started out fun but, story and others characters were so boring I skipped EVERY cut scene as I like the combat to an extent. Of the Tales games I have played this was the drawn out story.

I've got this and Vesperia in the backlog. I know we're getting Graces Remastered next month but aren't they kinda overdue for an announcement of the next mainline title? Arise was 2021 and Berseria was 2016.

Not a huge fan of the series but I'm not sure this franchise can survive on a 5 year prod-cycle. I think annual releases like they did in the past is overkill but 5 years is too much time and money for a franchise that tops at 3M sales per release. They need to get these out every 2-3 years tops imo.

They also need to remaster some of the older PS2 games that never got exported to America (Destiny 1/2, Rebirth, Tempest).

Story and everything started out really good. Then it just turned into a boring, defeat these 7 monsters in 7 dungeons type thing and I just fast tracked my way through it.

Your lucky Vesperia to me is the best one I've played so far. Story is really good, dark, and has some nice twist in it. I wish the plat wasn't so damn hard to get and basically requires a guide to do it but it is what it is.

Berseria's the last one I played. Had a lot of fun with it. I wish I liked Arise's combat system.

I wish (I truly do) I liked anything about Arise.

E: I think I'll give it another shot in anticipation of replaying Graces F. Maybe with different expectations I can now see it differently?

Well deserved. Best Tales I played, I really liked the story and the cast is awesome. The English voice acting is pretty good too.

So many fun memories from this one, amazing lead character (for a Tales game atleast), Tales of Arise is still the best out of the few Tales games i have played but this one is a close second.

This was the only one I actually finished so far. I enjoyed it. Vesperia I like but I dunno....near the end and can't be bothered anymore. I forgot the one with the chick with wings and the dude in a red jacket. Was playing that one too and stopped as well.

Lol, I own several more Tales games that I haven't even started, including Arise.

Yeah, I would rate it just under Arise and Vesperia (and I agree; I think Arise was the best despite the unnecessarily shortened ending and epilogue) but Berseria was definitely a great game.

Glad to hear that it sold well, I really liked it. It's been so many years that it's about time for me to give it another playthrough...
