How is Dawn of the New World by the way? Good story and gameplay? I played ToS back on GC liked it enough but not sure it's worth the $40 alone. But if Dawn is decent I might pick it up. Coming off just beating Xillia I'm wanting some more Tales of.

You don't have party members? Just the monsters you recruit?
Still more tolerable than Graces F story. It's pretty fun, but think of it like a spinoff because in lots of ways it is (budget, smaller subsystems, etc.). Story wise is also more of an extended epilogue/direct-to-dvd sequel than an actual full sequel so mileage may vary. It's still pretty fun but don't expect anything on the same quality of the first one.

Might just go with Graces instead. Thanks for the answers.
Graces has fun skits at least. Graces and DotNW probably have some of the better ones in the series along with Vesperia. But yeah, I think the story's better in DotNW for sure even if stories in Tales are usually pretty mediocre.
Yeah, good choice, I'm not sure if anybody would consider DotNW better than Graces (an actual mainline title) unless they really have it out for the story being bland.
I dont think Tales of Series stories to be mediocre but purely cliche anime troopes for most of the part. There are a few that are actually good/decent despite still using the cliches but it works. The only offensive stories for me have to be Graces DotNW thanks to the leads and Tempest but everyone knows that game was just a nightmare that doesnt really exists. The rest are cliche but tolerable with a few that go above average.
The one thing that bothered me with DotNW was how floaty the battle system felt.
It also just felt off, even the impacts don't feel as strong as other Tales game.
Nevermind, how easy it is to break DotNW's battle system.
It's hard for me to think otherwise when Destiny 2 and Rebirth are also in the series' history, haha. Though yes, even the cliche ones like Symphonia are pretty fun stories despite having tons of tropes.

DotNW is weird because Emile's artes, skills, and combos really support him being an aerial combat specialist which is a really strange choice for a main character.
Symphonia OT Goes up on the 18th right?
Yeah.
I should probably get to work on that huh
Need help?
So I just finished Tales of Xillia. I really enjoyed it. It has me hyped for 2.
So when it was released I remember people on my TL and on gaf I think talking about some scene with Alvin and Jude and how the localization differed compared to what was originally said in the Japanese. I think something about the mood being different or something. I don't remember the details. Anyone remember that?
I wanted to see them now (since i finally finished the game) but I can't seem to find where this discussion took place. Anyone know what i'm talking about?
Are the any avatar bets for Xillia 2 release date?
I was just gonna ask that. I'm upset I can't even pre order the game anywhere except GameStop!

$15 credit towards Tales of Asteria microtransactions.
So 1500 gald? Yays!$15 credit towards Tales of Asteria microtransactions.
I typically avoid CE/LEs at the moment mainly because all that /stuff/ would quickly clutter my medium size apartment. Once I get a house or larger place where I can dedicate some furnature for it. Would be cool to have a figure case or something.
So regular edition for me. Maybe whale all of the digital goods as well, against better judgment.
If ToX2 english LE comes with a cat plushie, I'll be tempted to buy it.

*Sends Data to Namco*Purchasing CE/LE's is becoming a bad habit for me. Though my room can accommodate cool shelves for nerdy figures and statues, I choose not to because I like my relatively clean and semi-minimalist thing I've got going.
If I don't get another Milla statue in her ToX2 costume, a cat plushie would do. What the hell am I saying, I'm gonna buy whatever it is... I'm a dumb consumer. The first step is to admit I have a problem.
CE/LE's are lame unless they have one or more of the following:
1) Steelbook
2) Soundtrack, doesn't have to be the full thing, but this sample track bullshit with like 5 tracks need to stop. At least give us a full CD worth.
3) Artbook, same as above, ones as big as the game case are pretty lame. Give us a decent sized one that's hardcover.
4) Plushies
5) Cool in-game tie-ins like the Ni No Kuni Wizard book (one of the better LE's aside from stupid Digital River...which brings me to the next point)
6) Not store exclusive (fuck Digital River), give us at least Amazon and Gamestop as an option and some others.

Kawaii Cat needs to happenLol. Well, if it gets them to localize more games. While I do like some of the statues that are included in CE/LE's, plushies would be a nice change.
