Little creatures was a lovely record, but it was such a departure from the last 5 records that it wasn't going to have a fair chance of hitting those same highs that people had come to expect from them.

Speaking in Tongues was the greatest pop Talking Heads records and Little Creatures felt like the come down from that. Everyone woke up from the party in the city and went back to the country.

I especially love Give Me Back My Name and And She Was. Actually, I like every song on it. I guess because I encountered the album without having any context, I could appreciate it for what it was. Also: nostalgia.

They went downhill after Eno stopped producing their records.

Still some good albums that came afterwards, but nothing compared to Fear of Music or Remain in Light.

Yea after Eno left the experimentation went away. That's why if you cut out from Fear of Music to Speaking in Tongues you'd have a band progressing from punk roots to folksy/rock. Eno was a good detour, but they were always headed to Little Creatures territory. It just took a little while to get there.

I love Remain in Light but I can't really say I'm a fan of the group. I just can't get into their other albums. Anyone have any suggestions as to which album I should go to next?

If you want more of a funk/pop sensible Remain in Light go to Speaking in Tongues.

If you're more wanting that atmospheric mood of RiL try Fear of Music.

Think you want more Punk/New.Wave? More Songs About Buildings and Food.

Or go a bit more 80's rock with Little Creatures.

Such incredibly talented group. I saw David Byrne with St. Vincent last year at Bonnaroo, they blew me away. That was a hell of a show.

Remain in Light is still one of my favorite albums of all time.

Adrian Belew's guest guitar solos on "The Great Curve" are GOAT material.
