As far as the lag goes, you've just got to find a couple of people (or be one) who can host a decent game. I can host up to 12 pretty effectively, but these clowns on DSL downloading bestiality porn torrents and trying to host 16... well, yeah, thats not gonna go so well. If you're worried about lag, I find 8 person games pretty fun and virtually lag free. I've got comcast cable and can EASILY host a lag-free 8-player game... I would assume most GAFfers have at least that good a connection.

Yup! I got lucky, went out to eat and took longer then expected. Came back thinking I wasn't going to be able to get in. Checked my friends list and lo and behold...open invite by TheChapel.

First match on Dust as a red member. Then got disconnected but got back in right away. This time as blue and I just posted up with my sentry and dispenser by our last point. Thanx to all my team members protecting me, really helped and kept the red team at bay. I thought we were going to lose at the last minute since they destroyed the sentry and broke through our last defense, but you guys held that shit down hard. AWESOME MATCH

You were tearing me up when you were a Spy on that last match. I'd get to the middle point ready to blow people into bits as a Solider, only to have you come up from behind and backstab me. It happened like three times in a row. :lol

Yeah that shit was crazy. Its taken me a while to get used to the Spy, but I think Im starting to get the hang of it. I did have to kill myself in one match of dustbowl though(not sure if it was a game with gaffers). It was the last point at dustbowl where there is a platform you can climb up on between to cave entrances. For some reason, each time I go up there, I end up getting stuck and cant get out. This has happened 3x already and Im pretty sure its a bug.

Edit: Oh, and props to the enemy medic healing one of our spies. That shit was classic. :lol

My mediocre moment for the evening: rolling in with the ubercharge, a scout (spy?), and a soldier.....and I accidentally ubercharged the scout then we all got killed. :lol

Yea i was the spy trying to run past to sap the turret before you two headed in, I was about halfway through a sap when I realized the uber was on me. I tried to turn and grab the intel, but it was all too late. Defiantly had a wtf moment there. :lol

The first game was awesome, and the stalemate in the second was intense. The games that followed were just painful (we didn't stand a chance.) =D

Thank you for making them relatively easy to obtain.

Considering how frustrated I've been with the lag and disappointed by it's complete lack of community features, my playing enough to get all the game's achievements is a real testament to it's design.

Yeah no prob. Though some of our team mates really sucked and it pissed me off. Thats why pubbing sucks.

See I dont know. The way TF2 plays, it seems that consoles would be able to hang with PC players. It takes a while to get someones health down and the only instakills is with a headshot from a sniper.

KB/M won't give you much advantage in where you set up your sentry guns.

There's alot of subtle things you can do with keyboard that makes taking out sentries ALOT easier.

Hmm your probably right, but I just dont get the accuracy argument for a game like this. Don't you just need to shoot at a general direction(cept the scout)? Even with accuracy going to the pc, I Still think it would be a close game between pc and console.

Soldier. Rocket pre-firing. High-level demoman play also depends on fine-control aim, but other people are better to talk to on that subject than myself.

As far as sentry guns go... I suppose you can camp a sentry with a controller as good as you could with kb/m. Not that most engineers I see on Steam know how to do it well anyway.

I just hope that The Orange Box is selling well. It's amazing deal. And I want to see it sell well enough to warrant Orange Box 2 (Please God don't use that name) including HL2: Episode Three, CS: Source and Left 4 Dead on 360. I just don't see Left 4 Dead selling a lot being released by itself as is planned. I'm sure it'll be awesome but I don't think it'll sell a lot by itself.

I just got Gravel Pit last night as well. That was by far the most difficult of the bunch. All I need now is another 2 head shots and I'll be done with the TF2 achievements (thanks in a great part to gaf ).

As for the sentry, it's best not to be left unattended. Putting up a dispensary nearby should help a bit with that, plus it allows you to get the turret up much quicker. I pass 10 kills pretty often on 2fort defense: I place the sentry so that it's vantage is down both halls, and place the dispensary in the corner it faces (in between the two halls.) I usually hop on top of the sentry and scoot to the back as to not be back-stabbed, whip out the shotty, and shoot anyone who enters the room several times regardless of color.

Also, if your worried about someone just out of reach being a spy, check their name and reference your stats page... it only takes a sec and nine times out of ten if it is a spy the name wont match the class.
