You're not missing anything. It's one of the most disappointing movies I've seen and I love Ghostbusters.

Saw the trailer and outside of the surface level appearances (“check it out, Ecto-1!”) it just didn’t feel at all like a Ghostbusters film. If people enjoyed it then good for them but it didn’t interest me at all

Is Ghostbusters a big name in the movie industry? It's always been a modest box office draw at best and aside from the first two movies hasn't been well received. I remember the trailer from Afterlife when Bill Murray says "Did you miss us?" and I was like not really mate, I would have much rather you stayed in the 80s and died a hero's death instead of being revived.

The 80s was all about Ghostbusters, TMNT, gijoe, transformers etc.. it was huge. Had all the Ghostbusters toys, it's my freaking childhood

It does not feel like a Ghostbusters movie. Everything is very serious with very little humor.

If you want a true Ghostbusters 3, go pick up the Ghostbusters video game that came out a little over 10 years ago. It's fantastic and has the entire voice cast even including Annie Potts.
