So I thought this was a theatrical release but it says Universal All Access so I'm guessing this is made for streaming?

It's The Munsters. Personally I'm glad Rob Zombie is not trying to be edgy and create some kind of more "mature" Munsters.

Zombies output is highly variable but rarely totally without merit so I'll probably check it out if it is on something I can get.

Gotta admit that despite watching a lot of The Munsters in syndication as a kid I think I've overwritten every memory of it with something from The Addams Family.

Who had the hair ball cousin? The dragon in the yard? They both run together.

He's a huge fan of the show. So I actually trust them to do a decent movie. It's not like they got writers of Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi, one who apparently didn't even know Anakin became Darth Vader.

Rob Zombie knows the source material at least.

Honoring the show and making it funny are not necessarily mutually achievable goals though. I'd rather have funny than faithful but both would be nice. I feel like the Hotel Transylvania films are a good goal post and if they are as good as the recent Addams CGI movies we are in luck.

Kinda hard to get behind this when What We Do In The Shadows exists and has progressed the formula.
Rob Zombie being held back by the PG rating does not inspire confidence.

I thought it was going to be a darker take, but it still might feel oppressive and not as comedic.

If the couch is a giveaway for the tone.
