Tech companies want cloud and sub to be mandatory for games

I've already written to congress members about the Intel money spent. Time to write another letter.
The amount of my tax money going to big tech, I want stopped.
I would rather buy cheap china than have my tax dollars go to buy another factory that doesn't produce things for ME.

While I have no doubt they would LOVE that, also never never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by ignorance.

The big tech companies are far too inept to orchestrate a run on memory in order to make you rent a cloud gaming service. This is all just a happy little accident for them. It is literally impossible for this memory shortage to all be a malevolent plan to get you on streaming. Rather, they are planning to use the memory for AI.

I'm sure he goes over all this in the video. This guy is good, never leaves shit out so everything I say he has already thought of.

I think is more a consequence, that companies like MS and Nvidia would love. Nvidia already said they aren`t a game company anymore, I think maybe they will release one more series of GPU, but maybe will be their last for B2C.

In general, it's great video. It shows how corrupt and fucked up tech industry is right now, and US government doesn't give a fuck - they even give them money (both administrations).

Just so you know just 2 years ago they had so much ram overproduced that ram prices crashed.
Tech Jesus is just talking out of his ass.

Currently there is AI spike but investors money is not infinite sooner or later most of investors who wanted invested and rest won't invest which will lead to orders stopping.
Secondly tech jesus makes idiotic assumption that rest of competition won't do anything.

Simply put at current rate there is not enough money in the world to build anything new in like a year. Once that limit will be hit then not only investors will stop funding everything but also will want to earn money from services. Ton of those companies will have nothing to show for which in return will lead to bankrupcies and tooooooooooooooon of hardware flowing to market crashing prices again.

Too many are being conditioned from childhood now. See: MTX

retro games lemmings GIF
It helps me sleep at night knowing the same people that yelled at others about how MTX and subscription services were a good thing, it helped developers, helps players with less time, etc and in the end they brought upon their own apocalypse.

You cannot make this shit up. No one looking back at this time will understand how retarded people were. They will look back at whale type folks and just laugh at how they had they had no foresight to ruining gaming for themselves and others.

Lot of blame to go around. Glad I always stayed firm in the never buy anything that should be in the game and earn able, but I've never even bought a month of Netflix much less anything else.

I almost feel sorry for the losers that fell for everything a company pushed and wore the kneepads proudly. Especially those COD worshippers.

Remember folks, if you bought a microtransaction or any kind of subscription, you are the blame for all of this. Look in the mirror, slap yourself, then slap your stupid ass parents for never teaching you anything.

Wouldn't that hurt hardware sales? And how could a data centre or/and data centres possibly cater for the 10's of millions of gamers out there.

Look, i'm all for a good conpiracy theory, but this one makes no sense. There cant exist an end-goal plan to end home computing and exchange it for cloud, because you need home computers for streaming in the first place.

You cant sub to anything if you dont have some type of computer that can process video, apps, internet protocols and so on.

Have you ever signed up for internet? They provide you the equipment, sometimes for a fee.

Larry Ellison was clamoring for thin client PCs a couple of decades ago. Before then we had dumb terminals. Today, smart TVs would suffice.

If all you need is a TV to play games then no one will buy PC hardware... as a consequence no one will have a PC... as a consequence no one will need Windows... as a consequence MS will have screwed themselves.

You also need a computer to even want to sign up for internet.

Smart tvs are computers, they have ram and everything, often in similar amounts to pcs from 4gb to 16gb

Wasn't that long ago one company, maybe Corsair or something, wanted to start leasing out fucking keyboards and mice. When companies have basically killed physical media and with that consumer rights, we are kinda already dead / lost to these scumbags. Money talks, but sadly even the drooling idiots of this world that spend countless on MTX have more impact than any of us who are disgusted by this. Go after the dumb and easily manipulated to "win", a tale as old as time (and to be clear, I have fell into these traps before too, not trying to sound immune or superior)

Hes a knowledgeable tech guy but his persona has shifted in recent years to just be a guy who complains at everything.
Better than watching digital foundry practically bursting into tears of despair every video that most PC gamers still are not playing at 4k with minimum 16GB VRAM and begging people to upgrade.

Correct. But isn't the distinction being made here between computers that can play locally versus computers only capable of streaming?
Generally speaking, a computer needed to stream still meets the requirements to play games locally. In fact, smart tvs also allow you to download mobile apps and games that run on the hardware.
