I feel the same way, I kinda wish they had an option to use this visual mode or a high res sprite mode. I mean that's all it needs just high res sprites.

In the comics, April was actually trained to be a Kunoichi by Splinter. Looks like she's able to handle herself pretty well lol.

In the sense that there's a limited number of characters to choose from, sure. But I don't think they looked at a line up of anthropomorphic turtles and said "We need more diversity here". It's either her, Splinter, or Casey, and April offers something drastically different in terms of gameplay variety. If she's fun to play, which she looks, I'd much rather have that as the first addition to contrast the others.
