This isn't my type of thing.
This is current gen only and coming to PC, correct?!
Coming to PC still seems like speculations only, nothing official. But it being on UE4, it's probably running on PCs inside those loc-test machines right now. This is current gen only and coming to PC, correct?!

The important question is....will we see a return of Tekken meets Street Fighter?
You can tell they're setting up for it with the armor crush moves and supers.
I don't get it, although i'm pretty sure txsf is in development still, how are the armor crush and super moves an indication of that?
Exactly.
Aren't we suppose to see a new character Day 3?
Where did people hear this? I have yet to see an official source for this.

What's this I see?!

Dragunov scored the jab after the WS4 in his d/b3 juggle on Lars? If that becomes consistent in this game, then consider me a happy camper.![]()

This moment sold me on the slow-mo, it will definitely bring the hype.
Was that a mid move being crushed?
And the point that other people were making was that T7 doesn't offer as much new shit as say going from SF3 to SF4. To many people T7 feels like a prettier expansion, sort of like if they updated the graphics for SF4 and put out USF4 as SFV (which added new characters, new mechanics and balance changes).No. Not exactly. As I said earlier, that had nothing to do with my point. You asked why even buy these new games. I'm saying because people like new shit. Whether it's a minor iteration like the SF4 expansions (although I would argue that Ultra was a lot more of a gamechanger than the other ones), or it's something major like adding supers, armor moves, and a completely redesigned bound system, it's new shit that the people that have been playing the game (instead of complaining about stuff like juggles and animations even though they probably don't even play the games) wanna see.

Yeah people like new shit but not $60 more for a very similar game play experience. People can tolerate cheaper expansions for similar game play experiences but for a new full retail price they expect more. This is exactly the reason why Tekken is on a decline sales wise and I am not sure that T7 will be able to curb the trend. Of course this all depends on the modes featured in the console version of the game where enough modes could allow people to approach Tekken in a new light and that could be enough to sway people.
This doesn't really apply to many people in this thread though... most people here including myself will buy T7 no matter what. I am talking about your average consumer/casual gamer.

That's the thing though, from a gameplay perspective, this looks like a completely different game even in the eyes of your average person that doesn't know a thing about how competitive play goes. You guys are seriously underrating how much the visual flares like the freeze frame supers, slow motion on KOs, crazy hit sparks, and dynamic camera angles on power moves change everything in the eyes of your typical casual fan.
T5's customization was pretty good, imoI hate customization in fighters. I don't want to be subjected to everybody else's abominations.
I'd be fine with if I could turn it off, but as it stands there are lots of items that become distracting during a fight and/or are just plain ugly to look at and I'd rather not see them.
Tekken's customization is so terrible.
Probably because those are traditionally 2d fighter mechanics.
but tekken's always been a 2D fighter... well 2.5D, except for times like SCmode in T6

Not it hasn't. Not since Tekken 2 at least.
i'm new here so you're gonna have to explain what you mean with that one.Not this argument again, the game is fully 3d since Tekken 3 or Tekken 4 depending on how you look at it.
what about tekken 2 made the gameplay 3D?Not it hasn't. Not since Tekken 2 at least.
Tekken gains a lot of inspiration from 2D fighters but it's not a 2D or 2.5D fighter.

it's not really an argument to me but
what about tekken 2 made the gameplay 3D?
how is it not? I don't understand.
you jump, crouch, walk forward/backward but on the screen it's left/right. you sidestep into the foreground and background, which it was adds the extra .5D.
in order for this game to be 3D, the fights would have to be in the same setup as scenario campaign in T6, where the camera is behind you and you move freely on a 3D plane.

There are enough gameplay changes in T7 to please the hardcore fans of Tekken. There will (probably) be enough single player content to please the casual fans of Tekken, given their statement of a stronger focus on the Mishima plotline. For the middle class? Who the heck knows.
3D fighters have never been defined in the manner you are describing. Typically, a 2D fighter meant it was literally a 2D game with sprites, and 3D fighter literally a 3D game with polygons. 2.5D came into prominence with Street Fighter 4, the first of the prominent 2D fighting game IP's to go 3D but retain 2D gameplay. Early versions of Tekken were considered 2.5D because they didn't have sidestepping, but that changed and here we are.
Wow, this is a new one. >_<in order for this game to be 3D, the fights would have to be in the same setup as scenario campaign in T6, where the camera is behind you and you move freely on a 3D plane.

Yeah I'm definitely warming up to it. Tekken is never gonna be VF levels of realism in terms of martial arts accuracy, so it might as well embrace the craziness and turn the flash up to 13. I'm definitely glad they're finally replacing the old hitsparks with something nicer.Exaggerated CH effects and slow mo during clutch situations are the best things they added in T7.
I wouldn't mind if they left out the more ridiculous stuff like the cartoonishly huge mallets and fish that just sort of float on your back. It's bad enough seeing that stuff online, but in 6 and TT2 it was also forced upon you in nearly all the offline modes. Hi there WonderMother! The customization system isnt the problem, I love it. its people's inability to make anything cool looking or interesting thats the problem.
That's not how dimensions work.you jump, crouch, walk forward/backward but on the screen it's left/right. you sidestep into the foreground and background, which it was adds the extra .5D.
