TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

CH means Counter Hit. Moves get more damaging and often more juggling properties if you land a Counter Hit.

btw I'm glad you're digging the series. I figured you might since Tekken shares the meaty feeling of hits that Yakuza has.

Hopefully Kiryu will end up being a guest character.

You're right, I do love it :)

Tekken 7 would be my personal favourite fighting game of all time if it got a playable Yakuza character.

Trying to decide between Katarina and Josie right now. Played each for like half an hour yesterday to get a taste of their movesets. I know Katarina is supposedly one of the easiest characters to learn - how much harder would you guys say Josie is to learn?

For reference, this is coming from someone who may as well be new to competitive Tekken. I played Bryan in earlier games but basically just spammed snake edge and orbital heel into combo.

Stuck in story mode, can't beat a boss lol.

you fight with Heihachi on low health vs Devil Kazuya

Lost 20 times in a row at least, definitely need a break haha.

I've always said Tekken has the most satisfying hits in 3d fighters.

From my experience trying both Josie seems like she has a few more tricks to learn than Katarina. Both are still easy characters to learn imo.

Is it me or is Ground Zero Funk from Tekken 5 not in the Jukebox?
D: don't let this be true!

Sweet, that last part is pretty much all I needed to hear haha. I think I'll go with Josie, there will already be enough Katarinas running around online I'm sure. Plus, kickboxing.

Ok so I've been playing all day.

They have to patch the load times right ?

Even on PC it's unacceptable.

Load times are literally 7-9 seconds for me from the moment I select the stage on PC.

Of course that changes when Im facing someone else based on their PC specs.

Netcode has been buttery smooth for me in most of my matches, barring one or two hiccups in a few of them. Really happy with it! This game is a dream to play. Still jumping around the cast a bunch when I should be learning more King buttons lol.

I've never owned a tekken game before, but I did play I think it was tekken 3 back in the day for a bit and I enjoyed hwoarang. I also played him in stxt. I spent like an hour yesterday on training mode and then I hopped on online to some player matches, I immediately forgot most of the stuff I had been practicing haha.

Imma keep practicing with him. I also tried other characters but I think I enjoyed hwoarang and Eliza the most.

Don't know if its just me, but it feels more complex than soul calibur (favorite 3d fg)

On PC they are noticeable but not too bad in my opinion. Getting 10-15s loading times for the most part.

I've heard of people hitting 30-45s on PS4.

Here's an online match of PC version showing off Max graphics with Max motion blur at 4K. Match had some slowdown, but was pretty good. I should have done a treasure mode recording. I might do that later on today.

Also I haven't played Tekken in 7 years, so I am pretty bad.

Does completing the story mode give you more customization options? I'm having surprising fun making outfits. My first was casual street wear, then I made the practically required dumb abomination custom where she has a pizza on her back and a crown and half her face is painted white and she has an an, then I made a wrestling goth fan costume.

I think I'll do a schoolgirl one next

I feel like this game has a trimmed move set compared to past entries. Not complaining.

I love Master Raven, trying to get to know her combos.

Tekken Bowl would be bad ass.

Praise SSD, it's all been really fast for me. Loving this game.

That's fine and all but offline is a bit irrelevant for me.

Whenever you go online you have to wait for the other person.

This game should NOT take 30 seconds to load on a non SSD for fuck sake. Not everybody has this, it's a russian roulette online.

And the console version is even worse which is laughable compared to instant injustice 2 and Guilty Gear load times.

do you think Unreal Engine 4 causes these problematic load times? It wasn't this bad in Tekken Tag and Tekken 6.

Damn, just got home wanted to jump into the story but It's grey out. Anyway to see what the install progress is? I really hate this about the PS4.

I don't see how this game needs 45 seconds to load on ps4.

The worst part is that it reloads even when you "retry" a match or send revenge match.

That's not UE4, that's shit design. It makes it even more aggravating.

I love all of the Josie talk in here, keep at it!

I've learned and executed two launchers and a bnb during online matches, and I'm so happy about it. Josie have so many tools she can use, like the d+4 which can be really annoying for the opp, and she have her orbital, and swayback (which I haven't played with yet) and a very nice and powerful power crush.

I gotta get better at throwbreaks and executing rage drives, also my timing, movement and spacing of course.

I'm so so so happy with Josie.

Praying they patch the load times like what happened with Bloodborne. I need to kick as much people's ass as possible before work.

Speaking of the thread title. Can someone spoil the ending (s) Does someone finally stay dead? Or do they reconcile and do a fist bump and team up against kazuyas grandma

Well, the fighting games mentioned with shit load times (T7, SFV) are on UE4 whereas the ones mentioned with good load times (Xrd, IJ2) are on UE3 so maybe.

UE3 is a disaster btw, but the engine NRs and Arc use are heavily modified to the point where they're basically something else.

SFV and Tekken are probably super lazy and just used default UE4 with minimal optimization.

It's still ridiculous though. Especially how it has to reload everything on Tekken for rematches.

Disc. I'm not talking about the update. Just about the PS4 installing the game to your HHD from disc. IIRC there's no way to see what the progress of this is unless the devs include one in game (which T7 did not).

Can't you just push the PS button and highlight the game in menu? It doesn't give you a time but it does give a bar at least to see how far it's doing.

Tekken 7 would be my personal favourite fighting game of all time if it got a playable Yakuza character.

Feng Wei is a Tekken 7 character that has ties to the Yakuza.(as in Japanese Yakuza not the game Yakuza) but thought that might be a cool tie in for you to know.

.

What a dumb statement. Yes, every game that was run UE3 is a disaster somehow, the hundreds of titles that are successes are disasters too. Jesus christ. What does that make every other engine then?

Its scaled well for over 10 years now, Batman Arkham Knight surely was not a disaster, its still one of the best looking and performing games on PS4 even today
