All I remember about DOA5's story mode was that Kokoro is the dumbest character I have ever seen in any medium.
Dead or Alive 5 story was better executed than Tekken 7 and respected the guest characters more.
Lol. It is low key one of the better fighting game story modes out there.
Checked around and it's not just us. One suggestion was to try searching for a session in ranked and then just wait on the match list screen without picking anyone and someone will challenge you. But I'm still waiting, lol.
Guess I'll go back to the PC version. It works fine there.

What I'm finding works to help compartmentalize things is to try to incorporate just 1 new move or string per ranked match + revenge match. So I'm getting more used to the strings I already know while adding new ones slowly and methodically, and also developing a better feel for which ones overlap, and which ones I can phase out of my arsenal. It's helping me keep things straight with the enormous move lists.
That D44 string for Dragunov, the low -> high has been a really good pickup. It's helping me condition people so I can open them up. I'm still trying to figure out how best to use some of his grabs. The F3+2 seems like it has potential, but I'm struggling to fit it in at the moment. I'm still convinced that B12 is amazing. People will eventually get used to it, but damn those are some fun buttons to hit.

I couldnt stop laughing when Jann Lee throws the nun chucks and instead of catching them she just keeps looking at them and watch them break a vase. The Ninja story which is the main story of the game worked fine and they tried to show you what else was happening on the background even if some are jokes.

Yeah it's been almost perfect for me on PC too. It's been a great experience, hopefully they get the other versions sorted out quick before word of mouth starts turning bad and so everyone can just enjoy the game.

With Steam's DS4 configuration I've set the clicks on the touchpad to control vlc through global hotkeys. So I can do bottom area with click to play and pause songs, right side for next song and left side to go back a song.

I bought it, playing TT2 on B/C got me into Tekken again.
People still playing that one online too.

So where can I find out what the wall/floor break moves for each character are?
Playing ranked on PC is largely fine, bar an occasional disconnect. But I'm yet to get past the first round on a tourney without a disconnect, and that's when I'm lucky. It seems a lot of more shaky, but I don't know if that's because of others disconnecting or something.

Given how unstable tourneys seem (though some people are clearly finishing them fine) I think it might be better to leave them alone til the servers stabilise a bit...

Hmm. So matchmaking is kind of borked on PS4 right now? At first I thought I was having problems because of my location but I can at least play SFV with the occasional playable match. Searching for an hour last night I couldn't connect to any opponent besides one....and it played like.....well, like this

Though to be fair, Tekken games have never been very playable online for me due to the fact that I live on Guam. My internet connection seems to only be almost playable in 2d fighters but I was hoping Tekken 7 might change that D:

In practice mode, that recovery animation option is so god damn good for learning moves and transitioning between them.

oh man, i am never a fan of those, especially in tekken. i am still psyched to get to check out the story though, as that's my favorite part of tekken. once i'm done with my impressions i'll bump the story thread again

Beat Story Mode. My impressions? Loved it. Sure, there's some small issues with it but overall for the Mishimas that was dope. They really topped off their whole feud very well. Also...
I've been telling everyone since this game was announced that Heihachi is dying and this will setup the next one with Jin taking the main spot once more being the "Kazuya" and Kazuya taking the "Heihachi" spot and I was right. Shit was perfect.

I actually really like the idea of the character stories. Get to see all the cutscenes without having to go through arcade with everyone. They are a heck of a lot better than the still images from SFV's character stuff. Also wow, they weren't kidding about the Jukebox having ALL the music. Also it's been fun watching old Tekken videos in the gallery. I really love collection stuff like this. Although they left out Gunjacks alt ending from 3.

On the contrary, unlike Akuma, Eliza will always be available in the future Tekken games and standout from the rest of the cast with her 2D like motion controls.

DOA was always something with care for story and guest characters and themes. It should not be shocking.
