Is online for the PS4 version borked? Been waiting on a match for the past ten minutes and every time a challenger pops up it says the connection was lost.

Yes, it is. There's a known issue where you'll lose your connection to your opponent constantly.

We all know why T7's the most profitable Tekken in Tekken history. The reason doesn't change the fact that it is and it doesn't change the fact that the average time per person is the highest as well. Profit is profit.

As for DOA's sales, you haven't provided any stats towards how many people are actually buying these DLC packets and honestly, if it was as large as you're claiming then we'd have reports of that rather than reports towards how many people are downloading a free game. We know how many people have downloaded the game when it's free but actual DLC passes, there's really no proof towards their profit regardless of the company. That's more "well since that many people downloaded it and the passes are still coming out that means it's mega-profitable" than anything. You also brought up Injustice 2 and MK's DLC, what makes you sure that theirs sell a large amount and not SFV's DLC and Tekken's profit in general in comparison to DOA?

We gotta see some receipts towards the profit they're making off these DLC packets rather than saying "well they're still coming out right?" to make an assessment on this.

Sales of Dead or Alive 5 free to play have exceeded 3 million units and helped expand download contents sales for Koei Tecmo. Download sales for packaged titles have increased and the distribution of periodically released DLC has led to a long term increase in profits. This year almost 3,500m yen was bought in through download contents alone. Packaged titles (full game downloads) accounted for 2/3rds with the other third accounting for standard DLC. Digital sales for online and mobile titles exceeded 6,500m yen.

Koei Tecmo stated that the distribution of titles is key and to long term success and so Koei will be developing a number of titles on multi-platform mobile titles to ensure long term success and high profit.

Koei Tecmo plan to continue developing the downloadable contents business.

I've been wanting to main asuka but all the cast looks like too much fun. i tried out Miguel and he's cool but seems like he has to be close up to be best used and I prefer distance.

Just tried Master Raven and got destroyed for 2 matches by king and i forgot everything I tried in training room and had to reconsult the guides. I was going to stop trying her but I kept going and won the next couple of matches. She's super weird and complex but i think I get her a little more as I get a better grasp on what normals to press where and to not spam teleport kick or unblockable.

OK so I need some recommendations for who to play. I read through that character overview guide and watched the video but it didn't really clear too much. Basically just shortened it down to like 4-5 characters.

I want to play someone with good defense and punishment. Offense isn't that important to me, and while decent pokes are nice they're not the main thing I care about.

So far I'm looking at Asuka, Alisa, Leo, Jin and Josie as possible character choices. I've mainly been playing Katarina but to be honest, she's just not gelling with me. Solid character and the lack of any real execution is nice while learning the game but I just don't enjoy it.

So I need a defensive character to pair along well with the character I've been planning on maining since I first saw him. The StarBurstKid, Claudio.

So which 1 or two characters from those 5 characters above have the best punishment tools?

Pretty much yes.

Same thing
happens if Xiaoyu wins, only Claudio gives off a more rapey vibe.

Claudio's group is afterall hunting down the devil gene, that's why he agreed to work with Heihachi against Kazuya.

I legit haven't even looked at his moveset but I love that guy, will try and eyeball him. Then later learn his strinfgs etc

Easy low crush, easy high crush, evasive sidestep attack, long range lows and mids for neutral (she even has Karin's st. mk), whiff punishes from far range, and she has parries like Kolin

what more could you ask for

well she's not as good as getting in as some characters but she's still neat

I can work with less effective offensive capabilities but I just can't compromise on defensive.

I just don't understand how Dragonuv is more pale than the actual zombie in this game.

Sometimes she does not need to get in, you stop somebody else, and you are in. Then they stare at her bum in defeat.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying that DOA isn't very successful for the company, I know it is I even said that in my first post about this. I'm saying that what proof do you have that it's the most successful out of them all but then go on and say Injustice and MK sell more compared to them profit-wise? What's actually come forth from Injustice and MK's sales that say "ok they're higher than DOA" but the others aren't? It doesn't match up unless you have sales for MK and Injustice and then you compare them to DOA because honestly it looks as though you're saying "DOA sells a lot of DLC but since MK and Injustice sell the most copies then they beat DOA."

Rage art is like a super where you have armor on startup

you will still die if the attack you absorb does too much damage like any other armored attack

Rage drive is a powered up version of a move that comes out very quickly and gives you combo opportunities/extension. No armor on that one
 
I don't play Eliza but I'm totally gonna steal that I-No costume. I didn't get this I-No sanwa button and a drawing by Ishiwatari for nothing!

A rage art is much like a super in other fighting games. It has the long freeze frame, has armour for it's startup and once it hits, starts that long animation. The rage art does more damage the less health you have but if you try to armour through more life than you have, you die.

Rage DRIVE is a different move that's only usable once you have Rage. If you use a Rage Art or Rage drive, you lose rage for the remainder of the round. Rage Drive's are different for every character. Most of them are solid combo enders or something to get more damage off of. Some Rage Drives juggle, some hit low and allow you to follow up, some trigger a floor break etc. Rage Drives have different properties depending on the characters as compared to Rage Arts which are generally one hit moves that can be blocked. Most (not all) Rage drives are great for if you land a hit and want to maximize damage.
