TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

I tried Leo for a bit and warmed up to him. Haven't really found great combos yet though. Just from trying things out I get 30-40%. Definitely did better why Dragunov, but getting in with Dragunov seems harder.

I'm probably gonna be shit forever with all this character hopping though lol oh well
Do what I'm gonna do.

Have one character that you learn and know the ins and outs of then just go nuts learning everyone else.

I'm lucky that I have a character like Claudio in the game. Amazing outfit + Italian + Handsome + Magic + Suave + Polite + JoJo's style posing midanimation. Dude was practically made for me.

Rage art is like a super where you have armor on startup

you will still die if the attack you absorb does too much damage like any other armored attack

Rage drive is a powered up version of a move that comes out very quickly and gives you combo opportunities/extension. No armor on that one

A rage art is much like a super in other fighting games. It has the long freeze frame, has armour for it's startup and once it hits, starts that long animation. The rage art does more damage the less health you have but if you try to armour through more life than you have, you die.

Rage DRIVE is a different move that's only usable once you have Rage. If you use a Rage Art or Rage drive, you lose rage for the remainder of the round. Rage Drive's are different for every character. Most of them are solid combo enders or something to get more damage off of. Some Rage Drives juggle, some hit low and allow you to follow up, some trigger a floor break etc. Rage Drives have different properties depending on the characters as compared to Rage Arts which are generally one hit moves that can be blocked. Most (not all) Rage drives are great for if you land a hit and want to maximize damage.
I know what you mean.

Ok. Is there a way to practice this? Other than repeatedly having low health against other players? I see the option to try it in practice, but don't I need low health to activate it?

Make note of your issues with the game and either post them in here or let MarkMan know. I know they're lurking these threads. If not that then tweet to them.

In training mode, you can set Rage to be active all the time even if you have full health.

Nifty way to practice Rage Drive combos.

hahaha, it's great, isn't it? Every second spent playing this game is an opportunity to learn. I'm too scared to hop into anything other than unranked atm though.

Easy low crush, easy high crush, evasive sidestep attack, long range lows and mids for neutral (she even has Karin's st. mk), whiff punishes from far range, and she has parries like Kolin

what more could you ask for

well she's not as good as getting in as some characters but she's still neat

What do you mean by bolded? Which moves? Which parries?

we did it boys

also holy shit people are VERY salty in tekken 7, got two messages after I beat their asses and they are very upset I never gave them the run back :)

Why don't you give them the run back? That's nothing to be proud of.

Yeah even losing is quite fun.

Just got to Initiate in ranking, 14 win streak. Too easy
against new players

THANKS!

I think I'm just a little frustrated because of the online issues. I've been able to get into a few tournaments and even win a couple of matches, but they take forever. Looking forward to quick matches when PS4 is fixed.

i would think you could just save it like any other Ps4 game by pushing the share button after the match

Probably, but that takes up more space than just saving the match data.

I wish they would've gone next level with the T6 replays, like be able to load them up in Practice Mode and get extra data about what is happening.

I microwave steaks.

no need to repeat 3-0ing noobs, i've got bigger fish to fry. Someone furiously sending me invites and proceeding to start shit talking amuses the hell out of me.

well, i actually don't know. maybe replay save is available?

I think a great thing about Tekken for new players is that even if your outmatched it never really feels like you are completely out of the game. Land your 1 combo you know and hit a few lows and you can be right back into it.

A move that crushes dodges certain levels of moves while also hitting them

A low crush dodges lows and hits them as well. Asuka's d 3+4 aka cancan will leap over lows, hit them, and leads to a full launch and combo.

Same for high crush. Asuka's back+1 ducks under highs (which is most of the fast moves people will be using like 1, 2, etc and in fact has a grab followup if she counterhits them mashing.

Her long range stuff is varied. d/b + 3 and d/b +4 are solid lows that reach very far out andpretty quick and safe from range. She also has d+2 for a mid. You can mix them up and keep them out in the midrange with these moves alone many times. She also has f+2 which is a long range tracking kick that knocks down and is safe which stops people from sidestepping. Df+4 looks alot like Karin's st. mk from Street Fighter and comes out very quickly in 12 frames and is safe on block or hit..

Her parries are b 1+2 or b 3+4. They're the same I think, in that if your opponent attacks high or mid asuka will catch them and parry them. The parry will NOT work on lows, throws, or Rage arts, and also different extremities of the body aside from fists or legs (like character's elbows, chests, etc).

She also has the low parry that every character has in this game where if you press d/f at the time your enemy's attack hits you you will throw them down and then be able to do a short grounded combo on them

Ok. Who thought it was a good idea to let bosses to fly out in the middle of your combo and shoot you in the back with a laser beam?

The online and matchmaking is too fucked up for me to enjoy this. I don't mind getting beat, but I dislike going into a beginner tournament where it's all beginners and one guy -- still listed as a beginner, somehow, even though it shows he's won a ton of tournaments -- just perfects everyone. That's not fun and you don't get any better as a player.

I just fought a guy that had won multiple tournaments ... and it showed he's had a single win. Yep, somehow he's able to win all these tournaments by beating a single person. No wonder the matching is screwed.

Playing in New Zealand on PS4 and after three days I still haven't been able to get a single online match of any kind. Is there some kind of issue I'm not aware of? Is it my region? Is just nobody playing? Seems really weird.

What are good moves for punishing on Claudio?

As a Tekken newb (and a fighting game newb really I only have a bit of online experience in SFV) I'm really struggling to find breaks in some characters ground attacks, and punishing with a fast attack. I know they probably aren't proper combos since there doesn't seem to be that many 'true' combos on the ground but animation wise it's really difficult to tell. Not to mention when I try doing an attack their next attack is already beating it, or alternatively they've already recovered to guard.
