WTF make up your mind Harada!!!
meanwhile...
One default iconic costume and three other designer alternate costumes is fine with me if they do decide to go that route.
Oh well, looking forward to it.

Kill those "iconic" costumes LOL. I'm sick of looking at them again and again for the past 10 years. Tekken doesn't take place in a vacuum like street fighter or king of fighters. There's actual development that happens in Tekken as the story progresses, let the characters exhibit that! lol
Yep. On a surface level the game wouldn't seem all that new if the defaults remained the same. I love seeing the differences among characters throughout sequels.
The only issue I see with this is if people are returning after skipping a couple of Tekkens or 2d players come to Tekken. I would imagine that they would pick characters who they're familiar with, if everyone looks radically different from their old self, it would intimidate some players but that's just my two cents. :F
Which even then they could do an alteration of their "iconic" outfits where they still look like themselves. Nina is a good example as already been shown in this thread.
I would be fine with updated looks as well for the iconic costume. For the alternate costumes, they can go wild if they want to. I personally enjoyed Asuka's t5 Japanese costume or Kazuya's robot one for example.
Funny enough, Asuka's japanese dress costume had a different model than the one her default had. Bigger bust, slender legs etc.
It was one of my favorite designs in recent Tekken memory. I hope it makes a comeback.
I didn't like Claudio's design too much, but I'm intrigued by the magic hand thing. I hope there is some interesting mechanic behind it. Also, his hopkick looks awesome. Katarina is just disappointing all round, but I'll need to see her full movelist before writing her off.
Was really hoping we'd see Kazumi in action too. Her design is fantastic and if she has the movelist to match she'll be an instant favourite.
Overall if the game looks the same (minus the framerate) as the location test I'll be happy. Yeah the game is still a work in progress, but I still hoped for one major thing and it's something that they included in T4. I want the return of deformation to the outfits. Jin's hoodie in T4 would fall down after a knockdown and it was cool to see. I want to see the same thing again. Catarina's sunglasses should fall off after getting hit in the face. Paul/Kazuya's hair should get more and more dishevelled as the fight goes on, Xiaoyu's ribbons to hold her ponytail get loose, and so on. But alas, they are recycling the same models from Tekken 6 so I guess I should only expect something like that when they reboot the franchise and make completely new models with their own parameters of interactivity/variance.
I think the new air-bounds are brilliant. And unlike T6 bound they don't disappear after a floor break or a balcony break. Although things can definitely change. I remember in T6.0 for arcades, you can do a juggle with a bound and when you get a character to the wall, the bound counter resets and you can get a second bound at the wall haha. Of course they patched that out
On the topic of people coming into Tekken...I think that's a boat long sailed. Tekken is pretty much Virtua Fighter status now unfortunately. No matter how awesome, well designed, and graphically intensive Tekken becomes the other crowds will never be interested. Not even Tekken X Street Fighter will make them pick up a 3D game. I've come to this realization after spending quite a bit of time with the 2D crowd here.

As for Julia.... I know one move that's not gonna be of any use without TA....
I agree that there definitely are specialists but the 2D crowd still plays every game for fun. Here in Ottawa there is a college that does these gathers for fighting game related stuff every week. All the 2D guys play everything between street tighter, Persona, Guilty Gear, and Marvel together. Me and my buddy sit there playing Tekken almost never does someone even ask to try a game even after we invite them. These guys wouldn't even play the game for fun. That's what drove me to believe that there's no converting them.
But alas it could also be the dogmatic attitude of my community... and I am to blame as well since I hardly support the 2D games (not like they need my support anyway )
Yeah but like Aris says if you show interest in what they play and ask around you'd probably get a few more people to play.
I wouldn't say Tekken is VF levels though. The casual community and the competitive community is at least twice the size of them.
You sure about that? I don't remember the legs being anymore skinnier nor her breasts that much bigger... Only remember the hair being much more feminine.
This is what I'm talking about, if the outfit changed in someway overtime, give us the option to either buy the older costume in the customization store or have it as an alternate costume.

About time, I guess Harada knows how the fans are tired of seeing the same outfits since 5.
It would also be a big wasted opportunity with those talented designers on board.
If Kuni returns she should keep her TTT2 default since she hasn't been in a canon Tekken game since 2. Also I like her look.

Harada put up some Claudio concept art:
The tattoo should have been left out to be honest.
Old costumes would be cool since this could be the last game with the regular cast.
I think I saw him without the tattoo in one of the battles.

Seemed different to me.
Looking closer the outfit probably made her chest look bigger since the cloth was form fitting.
Harada put up some Claudio concept art:
My local scene has 30+ Tekken players turning up every week, Tekken is far from dead.
I don't know...he's just too much Final Fantasy-ish for my taste. His flames also makes me think that he's Iori's long lost cousin or something. Folks are hating on Kat's "simple" and nondescript design, but she honestly feels more Tekken-ish than Claudio. Claudio kinda stands apart too much...more than Lars when he first came around.Harada put up some Claudio concept art:
Yeeeeeesss!!!!Sayah, time to buy that Wii U for November.
Do people still play TTT2 online here? I used to play a ton but I've been neglecting my ps3 for my ps4. I play Forrest/Lars usually but I'm sure I'm trash now since I havent played in months.
And I want Forrest for Tekken 7, but I know he wont be in
Yeah Claudio just doesn't feel like a Tekken character. I swear when I first saw him on a poster at the loctest, I thought there must have been some kind of mix up.
3. Roster. I find little interest in the new characters. Hopefully, the other new characters are better. Like I would have much more preferred seeing Kazumi. And that tease with those locked character screens.
Sadly, I have to second this. Is the list of returning characters final? Sorry, haven't been keeping track of it. If not, then maybe there's hope still...
We have a budget that is 1/4 of that which we had back in Tekken 5. The team is hard at work developing but they can't help it if the team doesn't have enough funds to make everything.
The Unreal Engine is being rebuilt to add more costumes, arts/techniques, character poses etc into the game.
The other week when Harada went to an American tournament (StrongStyle) which had different players from around the world, there was a Tekken 4 tournament being ran with some players pointing to it and saying 'MY BEST GAME!' He considered it a weird scene to see.
There's a lot of player that consider Tekken Tag 2 the best Tekken game. The feedback from these players is something to be wary of.

Bunch of T7 info from Harada here. A few bullet points that caught my attention:
Kinda eye-opening! Keeping my expectations in check.
Oddy phrased but I guess this should please most people.
I'm trying to imagine who was saying this....
Harada hates you AAK.
The latest build of Tekken 7 is a lot more advanced then the one at the Location test. The location test is running on a 2 month old version of the game.
