What's a good 40 inch TV

Is that an actual UHD Blu-Ray player, or just a regular Blu-Ray player that supports 4K Netflix and upscaling Blu-Rays? I'm reading the listing and I'm still not sure.

I'd go with the Panasonic, unless you'd rather get a 55" in which case go with the LG.

Interesting, in the uk it dropped to about 2500£ but it's back around 2800£ now.
This is exactly what happened with me (except I got the 55" KU6290 at Best Buy for $500). It wasn't a case of not being able to buy a more expensive TV, I just wanted to see if I could be satisfied with a cheaper one. Aside from the clouding, its color performance was such that it made content appear duller than it should (this is on both Auto and Native color space). It was more pleasurable to look at images on my phone, tablet, laptop, the older 40" Samsung it was replacing....etc. So I returned it after four days and heeded GAF to get the KS8000 and was blown away with it
Great price, but IPS panel so the blacks aren't as good.

Don't worry about the blacks, FALD makes that a none issue. Its the only IPS panel with FALD on the market, and it has a proper sub-pixel arrangement (RGB), not what LG use for there LCD-IPS panels (RGBW).

E6. Once you've tried an OLED there's really no going back. I've got the 2014 model and currently waiting for a nice offer to upgrade to a 65" 4K model.

It will be interesting to see where the B7 lines up at. This seems like a pretty big premium over the 6 series, for what many consider to be an incremental upgrade. If you can wait, it's probably recommended to wait.

So I've been using my LG 58UH635V for the past month and I have to say, I am really pleased with it. Only a few little quirks though, for some reason, if I turn on my PS4 before the TV, I don't get a signal and have to turn the tv off and on again. This is probably due to HDCP, and hopefully will be fixed with a future firmware. Second is the fact that the TV "shuts off" for a good 4-7 seconds when you turn on the TV-Guide for the first time. But meh, I can live with it.
Picture quality is in my opinion fantastic, but I can image that with a much pricier TV you would get even better results. HDR is working fine, but haven't played it with much, need to calibrate it but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Sound is the only major gripe. The built-in speakers are rubbish, but that is true for most TV's, so you're better off buying a good sound-bar or speakers for it.

I keep seeing this comment. Comparing the recommended launch price of the 2017 lineup to the current price of last years model is just stupid imho. According to my quick google research the 2016 recommended launch price was about $1000 higher on the 65" model.
This is effectively a price reduction.

Not enough of a price reduction to make the 2017 models a better buy. But yeah, next year at this time they'll probably be cheaper than the 2016's currently are.
So I bought my B6 with the citi double cashback credit card, which has price rewind. I was wondering, adorama on ebay had a sale on the B6, would Citi bank consider the ebay price for the price rewind? It is adorama, though on ebay, or does it only work on stores like Best Buy, Sears, etc?

I read on Slickdeals that Citi will price protect buy it now purchases. YMMV though.
And just so you know- all those shady sites recently upped their prices. You have three months though so I'm sure they'll go down again.
Nice. I keep thinking about doing the same. I really don't need to spend more than $1500 but a 65" OLED would be glorious in my living room.

Thx for that, watching right now, lot of talk about colour volume which is interesting because there was an update two days ago on rtings and they already tested the colour volume of (some) 2016 TVs.

So, if the 2500$ listing turns out to be true, where does that put the C7 against the C6 one year ago?
Much cheaper. I don't think that price is right, but would be good to jump on it if you do want the 2017 model.

You can see the C6 started out kinda high but quickly settled down.
It never went hit 2500 or below until about 3 months later.

I ended up getting a Vizio 48" D-Series 1080p for $350. Going to that from a 32" 720p is freaking amazing.
I think I'll be happy with this TV for a long time, 4K be damned, just not worth it yet.

Just upgraded from a last year Samsung 7000 to an LG OLED and went through a process of thinking wtf is the point of 4k and HDR to holy shit this is amazing.
The difference was a bit of calibration and oh my word are the blacks detailed as fuck and HDR is awesome when used well, ISS I'm looking at you.
I was a slightly concerned that my xbone games would look shite but after trying black flag it looks better than any 1080p set I've tried it on.

Thanks for the info, couldn't really find American MSRP. But why do you think the price isn't right. If I lived in the US I'd pre order that in a second, doesn't Amazon have to honor Pre Order prices?

As far as I know they got out of the DLP business in 2012, but there may still be some class action lawsuits active. I assume you're talking about picking up a used DLP RPTV.
Edit: Nope, that looks to have been settled too.
They were decent TV's for people that couldn't see the color rainbows from the wheel mechanism. Mostly they allowed a slimmer cabinet than the traditional CRT based RPTV, so they allowed large sizes for space and cost. I personally didn't like them because they had mercury lamps, and though it was rare they would occasionally break and leak. They did have some LED models at the end, if I recall.

I bought a cheap tv. Everytime I pan the camera in a game, the picture darkens but goes back to normal when everything is still. Should I take it back?

I didn't realize it, but I'm sitting roughly 12 feet from the TV. Should I bother with a 55" OLED or just wait until I can afford a 65"?
Turn off anything like dynamic contrast, noise reduction, motion smoothing, or any other kinds of processing in your settings.
Vizio D-series. The 1080p version should be $300 or less at 40 inches, and larger sizes aren't much more. Save the rest for a proper HDR 4K TV next year.
How cheap? What's the TV model?
