It was fairly decent Pre-GC release, there was some nice exclusive news and Dyack even posted now and then. It went to shit eventually, and is now a place where people can make threads complaining about being banned from GAF.

ok, it had to be asked eventually: how do you into IGN underground? Do I need to stand 24 hours in front of Matt's doorstep?

I was in the underground for awhile. Technically I'm still in it, but when IGN switched over
to the "insider" and started charging money I haven't been. Mat was going to see about doing something about undergrounders who weren't paying insiders, but nothing happened.
It was actually pretty cool, we did get inside stuff and get to talk to developers and what not. But it all eventually made it's way out a few months down the line anyways. Still it was kinda neat. Plus the level of poster in there was about as high as it gets.

You got in by being a quality poster of some prominence at a various boards. Basically Matt would ask you and you'd fire some emails back and forth and you'd be in.

Matt unbanned be, but the mod overruled him somehow.

The UG wasn't anything. Matt posted more on the normal boards than he did there and the last exclusive thing he posted was fucking Shantae GC... A game that never showed.
