TES VI trailer is now 7. Do you still believe in Todd?

Yep.

The Elder Scrolls VI trailer is now officially 7 years old (june, 11, 2018).

When it dropped, Skyrim was 7. Now the trailer itself is as old as Skyrim was back then.

We've seen zero gameplay, no updated footage, not even a new teaser.

Meanwhile, Todd's probably saying "it just works" somewhere.

So... do you still believe? Are we ever getting this game, or are we gonna remaster the trailer first?

At this point I'm expecting TES VI: Legendary Teaser Edition before the actual game.

I want them to take all the time they need to release the best game they can, I don't need another Starfield.

Yeah I'm pissed too because I want to see it, but it's coming when it's coming, that's it. And it's not like we're in shortage of games to play.

So... do you still believe? Are we ever getting this game
Is this even a real question? You can bet your ass it's coming.

It was a bait to sell themselves to Microsoft for more money, IIRC. Nothing to do with production.

Are they making new one? Now, after Starfield was released, sure. I hope they won't eff it up! Probably harder to do with established world formula.

it was a pointless trailer. I don't think the game will get released until 2028 at the earliest, meaning 10 years from the trailer drop and a crazy 17 years after Skyrim!

At this rate, we'll probably get Fallout 5 in 2035 and ESVII in 2050!

Bethesda aren't a 2 game studio, at least they weren't back in 2018. The 5 years post this trailer were spent on Starfield and now they are full production on ES6. I'm not surprised it's taken this long to be honest, the expectations are so sky high that they need to cook this beast for as loooooong as possible.

The game is real for sure. What I'm not sure about is Bethesda's capabilities of putting out a good game.

Tinfoil hat theory: They legitimately thought they struck gold with Starfield, but the overwhelmingly negative reception rocked them to their core and they've been scrambling to course correct ever since.

Its true. Starfield underperformed in every way

After Starfield, I don't mind one bit.

Also hire a new writer. I don't mind if they use ESO writers. They suck for different reasons but at least they still respect old lore and even incorporate stuff that Kirkbride alluded to outside the game itself like the tower lore.

Nah thats not tinfoil just straight truth. Starfield was majorly shit, even the dlc is abysmal.
As much as they'll try to course correct, TES6 is still going to be a shallow experience but they'll get another free pass as usual

I mean if they rush it and the game is a piece of shit you all will hate it, if they take their time and try to make a good game you all hate the wait, and at the end of the day you all will hate the game anyway like you did with Fallout 4 and Starfield so why even bother communicate the progress? 🤷🏻‍♂️

maybe don't release a trailer lol

I believe in God, not Todd. That being said, Todd has proven lately that he is not making good games anymore. Starfield was a mistake, plain and simple and it seems to me like the quality of their games is declining. So to answer your question, I dont have high hopes anymore for any of his games

Starfield's expansion is what made me most of my faith, that game could have been an accident, a different project that ended up failing.

But then after it's release, they said they listened to the audience and learnt from their mistakes for the Shattered Space DLC, just to end up releasing another turd lmao.

Right now they look like another american studio that was once great but has lost it's way, one more to the list...

Trailer was misunderstood. It meant they were going to release one "The Elder Scrolls" 6 years from then, which they did, with Oblivion Remaster.
Blame roman numerals.

I mean, it's not a conspiracy, we know they were working on Starfield first.

Just a bummer that this is the way the industry is these days, devs making one game a time for half a decade. Look at Rockstar's old output Vs its current.

2028 crossgen realease, book it, it will be great time to buy new console/upgrade pc, gta6, w4 and next elder scrolls :)

Considering how there games always look last gen on current gen they really need to pull something out of the hat tbh and the tech on NPCs is so so bad and that Witcher4 tech demo whilst not gameplay is indicative of what CDPR are aiming for, I think Bethesda really need to up their game for TES6 and I don't think they have the talent or tech to compete

They did have to make and release Starfield in that time. It was just announced about 10 years too early.

After the hugely underwhelming Starfield - which for me is easily Bethesda's worse RPG to date - I have low expectations for The Elder Scrolls 6. Starfield has a laughably bad story, a very limited number of interesting hand-crafted locations and some bad writing and mostly forgettable characters. I cannot think of anything that really stood out as being impressive. The graphics were... okay... I guess.

I do expect TES6 will be better than Starfield by virtue of it being set it one large location rather than a thousand mostly empty planets with cut and paste structures separated by intrusive loading screens. However, unless they change their engine then I fear that the game will be held back by dated presentation and constant loading screens still, which do break any sense of immersion and were annoying ten years ago nevermind now.

I'm sure I'll play TES6 when it comes out but, honestly, I cannot say that I excited for the game. That is probably a good thing though considering the game is likely years away anyway.

They haven't made a good game since Skyrim.

The Oblivion remake was alright, but that was outsourced to Virtuos.

I don't think Todd has any real say in how the games are made and probably he doesn't even care any more. MS producers are calling the shots here, which means that the game is going to be terrible anyway.

Crazy that a todd-ler during the announcement is 7 now!
Probably takes so much time because they had to change from Unreal 3 to Unreal 4 then to Unreal 5

I think all they did was announce it, not that it was in production or anything. I believe he also said numerous times that it was a long way off emphasizing that it is not even on the horizon.

Not saying that was a good idea to do that, but it's not like this was unexpected.

Never believed in him even when he made oblivion.
The graphics looked good at the time, but the people where fugly and the gameplay was junky. I could never enjoy an Elder Scrolls game.

Creation engine is the biggest problem, imo. With games like KCD2 and the upcoming Witcher 4, can ES6 create a similar dynamic open world? Just like every Bethsda game, I am expecting the AI to be absolute shit and the gameplay to be only serviceable too. I'm not sure what area Bethesda thrives in anymore
