That isn't what it will look like, as that is a mockup of a Tesla Semi with a normal truck in the bed.

This is all we have so far -

Personally, I'm not a truck guy, but as an unabashed Tesla fanboy (and I own a Model 3 for full disclosure), I'm more hyped for this than any upcoming video game.

This will be interesting. If Darth Vader owned a truck this is it.

I have owned trucks for about 20 years now, Ive always needed them being in the rental business. Yes I have trailers also but always having the bed attached is extremely handy.

My wife was looking at the new Mustang Mach E online recently.

Thanks for posting..

Can’t wait. Love my Model 3 and I was genuinely not impressed when it was revealed, I was an idiot back then, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned, it was just so drastic of a change with the screen. I expect a similar reaction by most tonight.

Point her towards the Model Y ;p

I don’t mean to shill, but driving a Tesla is better than sex.

And it’s starting 🤩

Can you drive those without charging them up to 6 hours at a time?

Well, I have a Model 3 AWD, 310 miles range. Yeah it charges every night. If I go to a supercharger, I can get back to full in 30ish minutes.
And these are available everywhere? Like gas stations?

Hold on AWD? On a car? Wut?

Major cities. I can charge ~30 miles per hour at home on 240 volts. So go to work,. come home, plug in, back to full in the AM.

Might I add, 0-60 in ~4 seconds. And I don't have a performance model.

39 grand? Well I'll be seeing people driving them around then. I hope said tank doesn't destroy me on the highway. He keeps calling it a truck but that thing is a SUV. The specs are neat though.

Yeah, I'm not getting how that is a truck, unless the back pops off like a camper top.

NVM, spoke before the ATV part. I'm not see any places to secure loads on it, though.

Gonna say, the truck is cool and ugly as fuck at the same time. But that 2.9 to sixty spec is nuts.

Not my market to begin with, I prefer a sedan, and I wish the M3 came in a coupe. Still love mine though.

But that ATV, gimme now.

I appreciate what Tesla is doing with innovation. Truck looks cool as hell. But I have no desire to buy anything made by this company until they’ve been around at least another 10 years.

It feels like they want to get you to treat buying a car like buying an iPhone. Use it a few years, throw it out and get a new one.

This is fucking nonsense. I’ve literally never heard this narrative with a Tesla.

You know you can resell cars, right?

Price without any incentives.

Why does it get so much better range for $70,000 than the much more expensive cars? I would figure cars would be a lot cheaper than this, especially with all the automation in the bed.

I want some electric cars that get 400-450 miles/charge already.

You mean the battery that is expensive to replace? Or how fast the price drops on a used Tesla? TBF most vehicles have the same problem.

Not really. Only the oldest models of the "fleet" don't get updates. We are talking first gen Model S and Roadsters. From 6-10 years ago.

Since buying my Model 3, I have gained ~20 horsepower, shaved off 0.1-0.2 secs off my 0-60, gained the ability to watch Youtube, Hulu and Netflix while parked, can play Cuphead and Beach Buggy Racers (again while parked), among other things. Had I bought full self drive, I could summon it in a parking lot to my location.

The battery warranty is 8 years I think? I'll be upgrading by then anyways.

I’ve worked for Tesla for the past two years. This isn’t the intent at all.

What percent increase is that on your HP? I'm surprised software updates alone would improve that, unless there was an initial programming issue.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy for wanting an electric car (rural South), but it's so logical. By the time I use up my current car the prices should be down enough and the range high enough that it makes economic sense just from a $/mile perspective.

As far as I’m aware, older model S, I’m talking Sig, founders and P VINs still receive firmware updates.

Was a 5% increase, bringing me up to about 400hp.

Technically the AWD that I have still has about 15-20% more they could unlock. The hardware in the AWD is the same as the performance (which also got the same boost).

I figure they will unlock it over time, dynos show the AWD is software limited only. It isn't a programming issue, they just limit them based on the competition I think.

Yeah, I should clarify, they may not get the new features as the computers aren't powerful enough to handle them. I haven't heard of a gen 1 model S getting version 10 software with Youtube etc.

I came close to working with you. They didn't offer me enough to leave the Japanese company I work for and move to San Jose.

Mind you, I wanted to, but the hit to quality of life was too much.

Battery replacement costs, the incredibly specialized knowledge and tools needed to do any work on them, the massive amount of complicated electronics that can and will fail.

I’ve been discovering an appreciation for simple cars that last a long time and you can do your own maintenance on. That’s how you really save money. These cars are the opposite of that.

I want to see how they are holding up when they get to be 5+ years old and where they fit in with their resale values. I don’t get the impression they’re built to last.

It’s been great. I’ve really enjoyed my time with the company although I do have to be careful of what I say online lol

Had I not been used to a big home and property and not had a family, I'd have hopped on. I would still love to work for Tesla :p I just couldn't take the financial hit. I was blown away by Fremont and Palo Alto. I went though like 18 interviews, and spent a day on site. You are doing many things right, BUT, your purchasing department at the time I interviewed was in shambles. So many sales reps and companies I deal with still complain about your... lack of planning. You work in a different world though.
