I hope we will see a great Best Picture montage again. I think the 2011 one was fantastic, I've been a fan of those ever since.

I was glad to see Rosamund Pike get nominated for best actress. It was a really good performance in Gone Girl.

I'd give supporting actor to JK Simmons for Whiplash. Interesting movie.

I thought Cumberbatch was great in The Imitation Game. It wouldn't surprise me if it took best picture too.

Personally I think Grand Budapest should win. Good fun with an interesting cast, but I fear it's going to get the oscar comedy snub.

Overall it's not a super great batch for best picture. None of them are going to be considered classics.

I gonna barf if that american propaganda movie wins.

One joke about all white people being nominated from the whitest of hosts.

Finally caught up on as many Best Picture nominations as I could this weekend (still missing Theory of Everything and Selma, though that's playing tomorrow night), rooting for Birdman for the big one (though I'll be happy as long as American Sniper wins nothing). I'm really glad that abc is streaming it online, it's been ages since I've seen it live.

That lead actor race is by far the tightest one. I can see all of these guys winning besides maybe Carell.

Let's go Whiplash!

That simple line right there was delivered so good.

"Not quite my tempo." -chills

Whiplash was brilliant. Hope it takes a bunch home tonight.

I suppose Arquette can take supporting actress. Knightley and Stone weren't that great. Haven't seen the others.

But I'm in the camp that didn't like Boyhood. I just kept thinking that I didn't give a shit about this kid's life. It's totally a gimmick movie.

Rooting for American sniper for the meltdowns alone, I didn't even like the movie.Let's go!!!!!
Cooper benefiting from a Redmayne/Keaton vote split to come up through the middle and take Best Actor is really the only viable meltdown scenario... and it's still pretty unlikely.
I think it'll take Sound Editing because nobody wants to give that award to Interstellar. Possibly Sound Mixing, too. But that's about it.

I forgot Melanie Griffith existed. And I had no idea Dakota Johnson was her daughter.
