I loved La La Land because I got the impression that Hollywood was this big vapid dream where most people don't make it and those who do have to give up something they really wanted (EDIT: and were SUPER lucky). I get the "Oscar Bait" impressions but I thought the movie was more about the two dreaming fools than the foolish place they were aspiring to make it in.
