Uh...

If you have a Windows 2003 server that is connected via fibre-channel to a SAN and it hangs at the Windows startup screen, don't panic. It's probably hanging while trying to rebuild the acpitabl.dat file.

Shut the server down, as in power it off. Disconnect the fiber from the HBAs. Leave the fiber disconnected and power the server back up. It should now boot all the way up. Log in, get to a working desktop, and then shut the server down again. While it's shut down plug the fiber back in and then power it back up. Everything should be OK now.

Um...

If you're a photographer use a silver sharpie to number all of your memory cards. Have a separate set of marked sleeves that you put the cards into once they're full. That will keep you from mixing them up while you're trying to stay focused on the job. And always remember to format all of your cards at the beginning of the day. Make a checklist that you run through before you begin working.

If you're grilling steaks or burgers, leave them out of the fridge for 20 to 60 minutes before putting them on the grill. Just before you put the meat on the grill, very lightly coat it with olive oil and sprinkle some sea salt or kosher salt flakes on it. When it hits the grill the meat will sear and you will get the delicious Maillard reaction.

If the views on this thread exceed the posts I'm gonna fucking lose it. Stick to the rules you assholes! Don't just take advice without leaving some!

Nice, more photography advice always welcome! New amateur photographer, here. Looking to learn tips on the whole 9 yards, not just aperture and ISO settings :D

Giving back: Keep your resume to ONE PAGE ONLY. Make it succinct: don't use things like "etc." but instead say exactly what you mean and nothing more. Don't make the font absurdly small to fit more on the page.
