One of his greatest performances. The crowd was so into it.
There is a great Rolling Stone interview with Paul Westerberg up that you should check out:

I guess it's not available in my city, because I'm searching for it on my uverse, and nothing comes up. *pouts*
And that's how you know that someone truly cares and isn't just attaching his name to charitable organizations to get pats on the back.I don't know if this has been posted but I thought it was extremely touching. Had no idea about any of this.

It's something that no one has ever done before. Only a legend. And he's holding so well. Unless Beyoncé's album debuts tonight at midnight, he could be dominating the Hot 100 and Hot 200 next week.Prince dominating the itunes charts is such a beautiful thing to see
Who was it that told that annecdote (Chris Tucker?) where he and Michael Jackson went to see Prince perform in Law Vegas? MJ was in disguise but Prince still recognized him and proceeded to play a 10 minute bass solo while gyrating in MJ's face >.< that sounds perfectly in line with this.
"Michael was outraged. And then started going on. 'Prince has always been a meanie. He's just a big meanie. He's always been not nice to me. Everybody says Prince is this great legendary Renaissance man and I'm just a song-and-dance man, but I wrote "Billie Jean" and I wrote "We Are the World" and I'm a songwriter too.'"Who was it that told that annecdote (Chris Tucker?) where he and Michael Jackson went to see Prince perform in Law Vegas? Unlike Bowie and MJ and it is hard to find Prince music online. It's really too bad it is not on spotify or youtube so we can share our favorite songs.
In my mind his greatest songs are;
1. Little Red Corvette
2. When Doves Cry
3. Purple Rain
4. Diamonds and Pearls
5. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World
Quick story about this. A year or so ago a local station (Here in the twin cities) sent a young reporter our to his studio as there was a listening party. During it he turned to her (She must have been 22 or so) and asked her how are kids getting music these days. She replied Spotify.. and he looked puzzled and asked what spotify was. She explained it to him.
He then turned to his assistant and said "are we on spotify?" and she said no not really. He told her to get everything up there... but obviously they never followed through with it.
There was a buttload of his material on spotify until recently. He had all his stuff pulled from streaming sites and placed only on Tidal.

Drive the stake completely into my heart and tell me how much you paid for it.
I hate you.It was$2
Just checked iTunes. He has 42 of the top 50 including the entire top 15.
Random, but do you remember that debate we had a couple years ago when I ranked my favorite producers and didn't place Prince at the top? You lit into my ass lolol.
Oh shit, did I?
Apologies if I was an asshole about it. I try to make sure shit comes off as just talking/bullshitting but sometimes it doesn't play that way.
I just had the most random ass Prince party happen last night.
I was driving home and there was a flood of people getting out of a concert at small venue on the road where I was driving at. Traffic was completely stopped and I had my windows down loudly playing the Purple Rain album. Darling Nikki had just ended and When Doves Cry came on and man... when I say pure pandemonium broke out when that opening intro came on I mean it. People were loudly singing the song, asking me to crank the radio up and shit. Unfortunately, the traffic eventaually started flowing and I had to continue my journey home. But it was fun.
I will never forget the night we sat on the rooftop of his hotel in Switzerland, after he'd slayed the Montreux Jazz Festival. Michael Jackson had recently passed, and Prince would talk for hours that night about his own mortality and what the loss of Michael Jackson really meant for him.
