All you will see when you watch this movie is basically a black screen, you will hear voices, see some explosions, but there will be no characters on screen due to the darkness of this film.

Yeah because

I've watched them on Disney+ months ago...

Wut? My point was, The Batman, a huge name in the movie cinema, releasing so soon on TV is not a standard. It's a surprise, a welcomed one to be sure, but still quite a shock considering it did well enough in theaters. HBO Max is going hard on Netflix/D+.

Took much longer for Spiderman but I went to the cinema on that one in full pandemic.

45 days is the earliest for home release but studios can extend that time frame whenever they want if it's worthwhile. Most movies make the majority of their box office within the first month anyway.

Sounds like you went to a crap cinema.

Shang Chi cinema - September 3rd
Shang Chi Disney+ - November 12

Eternals cinema - November 5
Eternals Disney+ - January 12

Over 2 months for both films.

This was probably an issue with your theater having the bulb too low. I’ve had this issue but The Batman was perfectly clear to me. And I forgot my glasses.

Tony Hawk documentary is excellent. If you grew up in the 80s and saw the rise of Hawk, this doc is for you.
Agreed although I wish they had delved into his personal life a bit more as an adult. He kind of alluded to infidelity but he’s been married 4 times which is a hint that the clean cut nice guy image he portrays may not be all there is to him. They didn’t explore that enough.

They focused on his professional stuff and his dad mostly. But it is still a great doc. I think it would be hard for him to sign onto a doc that talks about all his failures as a husband. He admitted to them, just didn't go into any details. Basically he lived like a rockstar when he was on the road.

Every MCU movie DISNEY (not Sony) has released in 2021 came to Disney+ 45 days after the theatrical release. This applies to all Disney and Fox movies going forward.

I knew it was April 20th but I still went and watched it again last week because I wanted to see it on the big screen one more time. It's got a gorgeous looking movie, and even 4k HDR movies on my 65 inch OLED dont come close to that experience.

I remember coming home after watching Godzilla vs Kong and Dune, and playing them on my tv and the sense of scale pretty much disappears. It no longer feels epic. I can set my surround system to max and subwoofer to 10 and all the vibrations still dont come close to the theater experience.

Maybe I will buy that new vizio soundbar that blasts sound off of the ceiling because 5.1 surround barely makes a difference in most cases.

One more week and you can watch it as much as you want.

And yes, HBO Max streams in 4K with Dolby Vision and Atmos on boxes that support it.

Don’t read the comments on the Tweet, obviously.

Hbomax quality is actually pretty poor. Dune on physical disc is FAR superior to what was shown on hbomax. The amount of detail lost on hbomax was really disappointing.

If you really like the movie and it’s dark like Dune or the Batman buy the disc.

Will digital HD suffice or still wait for the blu ray? Was thinking about getting it on iTunes. (I know I know I'm old)

Many “Whelps”! Handle It!
I am debating doing a month of HBO Max to watch that new Tony Hawk doc. Batman makes that decision much easier.

Of all of the streaming services it has become my favorite for finding something to watch on the weekends. It also helps that it has John Oliver and Bill Maher's shows, though they're both fond of taking months off at a time which can be frustrating.
