'I don’t even think about responding to him anymore,' the Democratic nominee says as she focuses on electing down-ballot candidates.

It was the surest declaration of confidence yet from a candidate and a campaign that enters the home stretch in so commanding a position that they are redirecting cash and manpower to traditionally red states, including Arizona, Missouri, Indiana and Georgia.

Any gaffer wants to inform her we shouldn't be complacent? :p

Don't think she's complacent at all. She was in Raleigh this weekend and Warren is coming Tuesday. More visits will probably be here before it's over.

I think most people know it's over, we are all just curious on how bad(good?) it's going to be. November 8th is still going to be an interesting day.

Focusing on the congress is not complacency, it's an argument for everyone to get out and vote, even if you're not in a traditional battleground state.

Let's clean house. Get all the bums out. Vote vote vote.

While I'm leaning towards preferring Hilary running up the score on the deplorables if she can do anything to bring the House in jeopardy for Republicans I would be fine with that trade off.

Good. Democrats NEED to win the Senate (for the Supreme Court nominations), and do everything they can to get the House too no matter how unlikely that might be.

Trump hung himself with his own rope. I'd call it complacency, but with an opponent like that... I can't really blame Hillary here.

Good. No reason to respond to that idiot anymore. Nothing to gain there nor is it a responsibility. Trump had his time with her at the debates. That work is done. It's up to the people now.

Exactly. I hope she still continues on Trump, but goes hardline on any and all that supported the Tea Party movement and produced this Trump movement in the first place. Even McCain, whose already decided not to accept Obama's SCOTUS nominee. Get rid of all of the current GOP members imo (who can realistically get removed).

Conway was begging for another debate today.

Hillary ignoring him is going to kill him

Yep, and people being okay with complacency like OP is implying are a problem. Trump's one path to victory is Hillary voters not voting because they assume she has it in the bag. Let's not have a Brexit situation in the US where complacency and troll votes allow the undesirable result to come to fruition.

The unfortunate thing is that the GOP members in danger of losing are not among the worst offenders in general and getting rid of them will have virtually no affect on improving the GOP's willingness to participate in governing.

Lol I heard about that. She has to know Clinton would never accept it because the only one who could gain from another debate really, is Trump. She probably wants to go with an angle that Clinton is afraid to continue to debate Trump or something.

It's a desperation move either way.

This. Hopefully Hillary encourages dems to get out and vote downballot so we can get some change around here.

She needs dems in the god damn house to do real shit. Now's the chance to inflict real damage towards the GOP republicans.

I think, think, the OP was joking. Because there is no indication of complacency it's just people thinking there is. If anything early turnout seems better for Democrats.

It's smart to help the downticket because if there is a republican congress nothing will get done for the next 4 years

Maybe. I've seen a lot of posts here that basically amount to "meh, Hillary already won." Which is a bullshit mindset until all the votes are counted, regardless of her lead in polls.

I am trying to hard not to get my hopes up about the House... but I want to soooo bad.

If you want more hope then be thankful that Obama will be our shadow president (not being serious).

Former Attorney General Eric Holder and Barack Obama will work to overhaul America’s system of legislative redistricting after the latter steps down as president. Holder will chair a newly incorporated group, said to be called the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. Obama has said the organization will be his main focus when he leaves the White House. The aim of the organization, Politico reports, is to take on the pointed gerrymandering that Democrats believe is responsible for uneven control of statehouses and the U.S. House of Representatives.

I have not seen such posts at all. Hillary supporters around gaf anyway are still way excited to vote for her regardless. Voting for a winner is something most like to do. Nobody wants to vote for a loser.

I'm sure there are exceptions mind you, but I question whether they would have voted anyway and now are just confirming their desire not to.

The conventional wisdom on lopsided elections is that the foregoneness of the conclusion depresses turnout on the losing party, not on the winning party. I think to argue the opposite requires more proof than simply "but what if it does"

Anxiety is a natural emotion to feel but that doesn't mean it needs to be validated and taken seriously. Chicken little behaviour is selfish and immature.

Yes i was making a joke directed towards our most nervous Gaffers.

It's been clear that Trump has done enough to put Republicans in a state of depression as much as he has galvanized many indies and demos against him.

They smell blood in the water.

I see 0 chance of any action on redistricting by anyone but the Supreme Court.

He can plan all he wants, but the congress have almost no say over the redistricting process, and state legislatures, overwhelmingly controlled by the GOP, are not about to do what he asks.

Actually, this is following my thought process: rather than taking the view of "don't be complacent", take the view "go for the jugular." Trump's simply not going to win barring a freak incident (like there being enough dumbasses who'll go out, vote downballot, but ignore the fucking presidental choice) but they can tie the Republican party down to him and let them sink along with him, and remind people (once again) that a hell of a lot matters more than the presidency alone. Perhaps MORE than the presidency, Trump's nearly neutered I'd think if he somehow won only to have to turn around and deal with a Democrat House/Senate.

yep.

I was just saying something similar to one of my friends.

What's the latest projections on the House? Seems like the Senate is likely to turn blue, but the House looks worse (because of gerrymandering?)?
