Just watched the "documentary" from Apple TV. The answer is very obvious (way before the documentary aired) but I'll consider this an IQ test for NeoGAF.

There's some funny videos of MCA before he was a women's rights advocate loving women at his concerts by fingering them when all they wanted was an autograph.

MCA. Yauch in my opinion was the most talented not only as an MC but as a producer. Diamond and Yauch are both studio caliber musicians. I’m not happy he passed, but I’m kind of happy I never had to see them go full woke. I want to remember the good times.

You can't single one out, they interplay off each other too well.

Secret answer it was Mix Master Mike all along.

One of the most overrated musical acts of all time

I'll leave it to DMC to rebut your opinion -

Their Effect on Hip-Hop: "The Beastie Boys are one of the greatest groups, and I'm not just talking hip-hop — the Beastie Boys are one of the greatest groups in history. You could call them the Ramones of hip-hop. Even greater than that, they were a great rock and roll band. They made it possible for Eminem, Vanilla Ice and all these other white rappers that came up to have a place to be. They made it acceptable."

You ever go to their shows? Full instruments being used, energy like no other and a crowd all coming together to enjoy to the fullest with the boys driving it all. Fuck even Dr. Dre was a DJ for them for awhile.

One of the coolest groups ever. I grew up with Licensed to Ill as one of my first cassettes as a kid. Must've played that thing to death.

Their DVD, Awesome I Fucking Shot That, was such an innovative concert DVDs. They gave a bunch of fans camcorders to record their concert with and while viewing the DVD, you had the ability to switch between different cameras iirc. I loved the ability to switch viewing angles throughout each watch for a unique viewing experience every time.

I saw Mike D do a DJ set once though a few years back and really wasnt feeling it tbh

They were all garbage.

Boo this man!

I got to see them in Long Beach and they did the whole bit with Mixmaster Mike walking from the tour bus into the arena. One of the best concerts I've ever been to, it was amazing. They even did some of their instrumental stuff from "The In Sound from Way Out" in crush blue velvet suits.

Nice one. I saw them a few times in a couple of countries, my favourite was a venue with only around 2K people in a sort of Spanish forum setup. The atmosphere was incredible. I've been raving, Foo Fighers, AC/DC, Ice-T, Public Enemy, 3 day festivals, Bon Jovi, U2, Madonna etc etc but by far my best concert was the boys up close and chillin'. Body Movin' is made for live concert openers, literally every person hanging back or in the booth seating jumped up and became one with the crowd vibe. Amazing.
