They never did any of that. They were always a punk band.I prefer my Beastie Boys doing hip-hop over electronic music over rock music, any time.
They never did any of that. They were always a punk band.
CongratulationsJust watched the "documentary" from Apple TV. The answer is very obvious (way before the documentary aired) but I'll consider this an IQ test for NeoGAF.
So this is what I got to say to y'allEverybody rappin’ like it's a commercial actin’ like life is a big commercial
They were all garbage.
One of the most overrated musical acts of all time
Their Effect on Hip-Hop: "The Beastie Boys are one of the greatest groups, and I'm not just talking hip-hop — the Beastie Boys are one of the greatest groups in history. You could call them the Ramones of hip-hop. Even greater than that, they were a great rock and roll band. They made it possible for Eminem, Vanilla Ice and all these other white rappers that came up to have a place to be. They made it acceptable."
The doc was pretty great except for the virtue signaling over the feminist shit.Adrock, then MCA.
What did you guys think of the doc? I still haven't watched it yet, but I love me some Beastie Boys
Eh, all I know is Ill Communication is one of the best albums ever, imo
They were all garbage.
You can't single one out, they interplay off each other too well.
Secret answer it was Mix Master Mike all along.
I got to see them in Long Beach and they did the whole bit with Mixmaster Mike walking from the tour bus into the arena. One of the best concerts I've ever been to, it was amazing. They even did some of their instrumental stuff from "The In Sound from Way Out" in crush blue velvet suits.
Single greatest music video ever made
