The Best Looking Console Game to Date

I agree in that the interiors don't look as polished as the open world. But considering the vast majority of the game isn't set in those areas I can easily overlook it.

How eloquent of you to use descriptors like "absolute garbage" and "PS3 levels", though. Very informative of your opinion.
It does look awful in the interiors though, I just can't understand why they look so poor. I'm being completely serious with my PS3 comparison. The open world and characters look great, but pop-in, geometric and asset detail knock it down from being the top this gen. I wish they had RTGI and a better asset streaming system. It's still one of the best looking games this gen, but I just can't overlook the weak parts.

Hellblade 2 is probably the best looking game I have played but I find it difficult to compare it to a game like Cyberpunk because the scale of one is s thousand times the other. I am 99% sure that most developers could make a game as good looking as Hellblade 2 if the game involved walking down a corridor.

I strangely will say Super Mario 3 for NES. It's is almost unbeliveable that Super Mario and Super Mario 3 are designed for the same hardware, with 3 years of difference, give or take.
Well.. In a way they're not actually.. Since NES used cartridges, they could include additional hardware into the game cart, which is what they did for later games, on both the NES and the SNES (SFX1&2). But I see your point!

Probably Hellbalde 2.

Demon's Souls remake on the pro.

When I got the pro I checked out every pro compat game within reason and to my eye and others this was by far the most impressive.

The first area where you are walking up the entrance to the burning castle, if you look up at the castle at that part it is eye watering and awe inspiring on pro.

The game looked incredible on base PS5 but the Pro patch on this one is insane. I recommend anyone with a pro to try Demon's Souls again(just the first bit).

For fucks sake. I really didn't want to buy a Pro. Now I'm tempted just to see how good this looks.

When I was a kid and not knowledgeable about such things. Super Mario RPG and Yoshi's Island on SNES totally confused me. I was shocked at how much the games had changed since Super Mario World on the same system.

Of course, I now know that the carts were packing extra hardware. But Mario 3 doing the same thing, is new to me. I thought that was just the top of their NES game.

The game kinda sucks, but it's easily Hellblade 2 and it's not close. It's currently the benchmark for visuals for the industry..... but definitely not for gameplay though.

I think Cuphead is a good candidate for its particular style. Same goes for the two Rayman games (Origins/Legends). That style never gets old.

For more realistic showings, I think a lot of the survival horror games this gen, even if they are remakes, are quite good looking (Dead Space, RE4R, Callisto, SH2, etc.).
