To echo Gordon, Ignorance is Bliss. You go about your day, focus on your day to day and fuck the world. It's a simple existence and you find stuff like console wars to get enraged about instead of how fucked up the president-elect is. The truth is, not everyone is wired that way. Some people can't accept only caring about trivial things or simply accept what is told to them.
I guess the question is, what do you do with that knowledge?

I do think there is a balance though. Can't let it consume your every living moment. Your life would be miserable. I know people like that. Can't enjoy a Popeye's 2-piece without thinking about effed up shit. Use that knowledge to be prepared and not blindsided, but live life too.
