This dude is one of the most overrated badasses I've ever seen. He had one of the lamest deaths in cinema and didn't really play that major of a role to be deemed as this OG character.
I actually poorly phrased that, since it sounds like I'm saying Boba Fett did awesome stuff.
What I meant was "It's just that his death was so embarrassing and he never did enough to compensate for it on-screen that Boba Fett became a joke."
He was popular in Empire Strikes Back (and was pretty bad ass).
Then they threw him in ROTJ for no reason and gave him a silly death. Even when he had a wide open shot on Luke's back, he missed by like 10 feet. Bizarre all around.
I still think he was pretty awesome overall. There isn't a lot of source material to go off, but his little dialog with Vader in ESB shows there's some history there, and he was apparently ruthlessly efficient.
How do we know that? For all we saw in the OT he could have been invited along by Vader who actually tracked down Solo himself through his vast spy network because Boba and Vader are helmet buddies.
He was just suddenly there, along with Vader, in that dinner room.

Huh? You literally see his ship chasing the Millennium Falcon. How do we know that? For all we saw in the OT he could have been invited along by Vader who actually tracked down Solo himself through his vast spy network because Boba and Vader are helmet buddies.

wrong again bruv
there is a scene with the Slave 1 popping out from behind an asteroid and following the Falcon to Bespin

It wouldn't be so bad if said fanbase went on to write some of the most ridiculous stories featuring him ever.Overrated is not a strong enough word to qualify this clown. The fact that this loser got a fan base after RotJ is beyond comprehension.
Both Fetts went out like bitches. At least Jango went out trying to take on the best light saber swordsman in the Galaxy..

Did you know that Boba Fett killed more Jedi than anyone else in the galaxy, had lightsaber-resistant armor, trained Han Solo's daughter how to fight a Sith, and was Han Solo's nemesis and a loving father?

So essentially he is one-scene wonder? Like CIA guy from The Dark Knight Rises? Because I remember him also not doing anything other than fly into Bespin.
Disney wanting to milk something to death. I am shocked and surprised at this turn of events. Not confirmed dead by Disney - http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2015/...rvived-the-sarlacc-in-return-of-the-jedi.html

all the bounty hunters were cool looking but guess who actually did the deed?
mother fucking Boba Fett. That's who.
They should really have a railing there. Doesn't look very safe.
Oh right. I forgot about that one.
My what an badass. He can tailgate people~
It bugged the shit out of me that he loses one of his pistols in the movie... and doesn't have a back up?
It's weird how many people don't get the joke here. Darth Vader is implying Boba Fett once brought in a pile of dust expecting to be paid.
Empire shows Fett's skills in deduction, tracking, and fighting. It is implied he killed rival ig-88, whose parts are being disposed of by ugnoughts.
If you want to use only the most banal of analysis, yes.
You could argue Boba's death is a realistic portrayal of the chaos of the battlefield.
No matter how good you are you can die randomly.
Fett kills IG-88B (the one shown on screen) as well as C, but not D or the real OG, A.
Isn't that EU stuff?

RotJ's biggest reveal is that his visor is apparently opaque.AotC I can give that, but the RotJ fight felt more like clumsiness and shortsightedness.
Did you reach the part where IG-88A becomes the Death Star?Just read about it in Wookieepedia. Now I remember why I hate the EU.

I always chose to believe an armored, armed bounty hunter with a rocket pack could have escaped the gullet of the sarlacc.
About ig-88, I saw clone wars eps with similar model robots - were they ig88 assassin droids? So that's still canon. But Empire's Ugnought scene made me think it was the bounty hunter Droid who was also looking for Solo. Simple as that.

Ugh! Sounds like fan fiction. So Wookipedia gets its info from EU novels?

It's a wiki, it's going to have everything.
The Clone Troopers were Jango clones, but they were phased out for recruits as they grew older thanks to their accelerated aging. By the time of A New Hope, most or all of the Stormtroopers are recruits.Aren't all storm troopers clones of jango or some nonsense? None of them can hit anything for shit. Fetts ain't bring anything to the table but some decent gear.
