The Bold Statement thread....

The original KOTOR was a POS. It was boring, lame, had shit graphics, and did I mention mind numbingly boring. On that note, Bioware is overrated.

Animal Crossing is hands down the worst videogame ever created. I firmly believe that people who enjoy it hate life, themselves or are bitter about videogames as a whole and wish its demise.

White people who know the difference between good shit and bad shit, this is the house they come to. Now, my shit, I'll take the Pepsi challenge with that Amsterdam shit, any day of the fuckin' week.

Superman 64 was a good game.

Also, Animal Crossing DS will be GOTY 05.

Katamari Damacy is a retarded game with the worst soundtrack I've ever heard.

Rare has never made a good game. Ever.

"Actress Tiffani Thiessen gets married" is the most ridiculous excuse for "Top Headline" on CNN.com headline ever.

Freakin' Riddick is the best FPS? I like the game for its uniqueness and (dare I say it?) sense of immersion, but come on. It's a run-of-the-mill shooter combined with a very easy adventure game. How can you call Metroid "guided" when Riddick is so completely linear and the solution to every puzzle is explicitly told to you by an NPC? It doesn't have "multiple paths". By my recollection it has a single puzzle with 2 possible solutions (both of which lead to the same outcome). Check out the Metroid speed runs and tell me that game is too "guided".

Halo is a better shooter, Metroid is a better adventure game....Riddick is a cool amalgam of both genres but it can't surpass either of its predecessors.

Devil May Cry 3 is the best action game ever made. People who complain about it only do so because they don't take the time to understand how to play it.

Need I say more? Maybe a sentence or two :lol

It is the best action game ever made. Period

So true that it was posted twice

Halo 2 sucked. It was basically Halo 1 with better graphics. The multiplayer was fun (and better than Halo 1's) but with all the hype and development time still a disappointment.

Transformers: The Movie is garbage. I make this assertion after recently watching it a few times, and realizing that even on a bad day, Beast Wars' dialogue and pacing for a 22 minute episode was leagues above what that movie was capable of doing in 90.

Dude, I don't even know you anymore...

Halo 1 sucked even worse than Halo 2. Playing those god damned cut and paste levels over and over again with those stupid zombie creatures arggghh. Anyone that says Halo was a good game is a fanboy.

Killer 7 is actually great. So great that it may be one of my favorite games this year. Just be sure to know about the controls before hand and accept the fact that the game is more focused on the story and style than the actual gameplay. Game isn't for everyone, but those wanting something new should give it a try. And if you do try it, you have to finish the game completely. Don't stop because you didn't like the first 10 minutes or whatever. That's like watching Mulholland Drive and skipping the last 30 minutes of the film. You must play the game from beginning to end

You're crazy, it's a classic and a sign of the times when all animated movies didn't live and die by focus testing. I can't even dream of a licensed TV series movie these days where so many characters get killed--for good--and the continuity of the movie is actually carried on into the next season of the series.

Let alone the nonstop violence and gratuitous shouting of the word "SHIT!"

LOL, I like the following so far (but don't necessarily agree with):

IF YOU DON'T PLAY FPS YOU'RE NOT A GAMER [APF: I'd add sports games to that]

Mine's Final Fantasy related:

FF9 is a better Final Fantasy game than FF7. Also, no Final Fantasy EVER will surpass the story and characterization in FF6, even though that's not actually such a high bar to pass.

i mean it

To add to this, most Japanophiles don't play FPS, not cause they don't like them, but because they're "Westerner" games and their obsession with a culture that's not even theirs won't allow them to try new shit.

Oh and those old school platform levels in super mario sunshine were terrible. In fact the whole game was terrible.
I agree, and I doubly agree after spending more time with Mario 64 DS this summer. Even being from the rudimentary dawn of 3D platformers and played with the D-pad, it's still far better than Sunshine.

ICO was utter crap interms of gameplay. One giant escort mission filled with block puzzles.

People only like it for the visuals/ art and thus are no worse than common Graphic whores. no matter what they might tell you.

God of War is not a great game.Yeah, I said it. It isn't even one of the 10 best games to be released this year. Kratos smolders with generic rage and the combat is boring. It's like Ico and Ninja Gaiden, only nowhere near as beautiful as the former and nowhere near as visceral as the latter.

Quoted for truth.

Don't know about that, but it definitely is a flash in the pan for me. Great concept, funny as shit, and the soundtrack is fun, but I only play it when I have friends that are drunk

microsoft is definately going to eat into sonys marketshare bigtime next gen. i'd say 40% ps3, 40% 360 and 20% revolution to start and by the end of next gen, 50% ps3, 45% 360 and 5% revolution.

Anime has been played out. Atlus can continue to crank out their niche titles, but Bioware is the real future of the RPG.

Anime and RPGs are total shit

Anime is boring as fuck with no fucking point..just same shit

RPGs are for the most part boring as fuck, who the hell wants to play a long ass shitty game with the same shit over and over again.. there are exceptions, but for the most part, shit after shit after shit

WoW is one of the worst things to happen to the gaming industry. Not because it's popular, but because it's TOO popular amongst Western game designers.

Quote of the year. I couldn't agree more. If one more person tells me to look at WoW for reference in my designs I'm going to scream. You pushed too hard. I'm purposely not looking at it out of spite now.

This board hyped the PSP so out of proportion so that in the end I believe it made the world a better place as all these people were wrong in their sales predictions.

EDIT: I forgot to put some commas and shit in there ^^^^^^^^

Splinter Cell's Spies vs. Mercs online component is pure genius. No online game can compare to the teamwork and strategy that's needed to properly play the game. It blows away any online game PC or console ever created. Its so good that I think someone should create a similar type game in real life with one of those laser tag type facilities.

Sega and Sega alone, THEMSELVES, are responsible for their own downfall.

Flooding the market with product (32X, Sega CD, Sega CDX, Gamegear, Pico, Nomad, Saturn and Netlink) during those five years in-between the Genesis and Dreamcast console's ruined them financially and consumer confidence wise and is the TRUE Alpha and Omega reason why they are now only a mere shell of their former selve's...especially when back then, a five year lifespan was considered the norm for a single piece of hardware/console.

Imagine where they'd be today if the PASSION that went into developing the Dreamcast had been used in developing the Saturn or Sega CD or...

I don't give a fuck what 99% of people on this board think, and the ones i do care about, i probably already know in real life.
