And this might be related or it might not be, but I really wish they'd utilize language-translators more, or even subtitles. It's funny how our suspension-of-disbelief works, right? Well, there's something about aliens speaking English that really rubs me the wrong way. Especially when they aren't even human. I can forgive the humans, but shouldn't aliens have different vocal chords? Wouldn't the atmosphere be more palpable if aliens on a distant world didn't speak like Ned Flanders or Steve Erwin?

Looks like he has a universal translator built into his chest plate now, so I'm sure we will get more "English on top of alien language" stuff like with the mayor. Since the show is probably skewing pretty young I get why they might want to limit subtitles.

Jabba puppet doesn't look that great by todays standards either. Whether it's puppet or CGI it's going to look fake.

Dude the CGI looked amazing on the Hutts. Surpasses the original puppeteered Jabba in my opinion

It was definitely better than ANH's first attempt, and even TPM, and ANH Blu-ray, but it still comes off as cartoonish to me. I prefer animatronics and pupets in a lot of situations.

I tried to like it but just found it to be the most generic spin-off yet. I can't even remember
of an episode to describe as they were so dull on story.

Only decent character was the sniper and that's because I wanted him to mutiny and put an end to it all. Couldn't name a single character if my life depended on it. Truly a show for young kids.

Also the environment doesn't feel real, why would u walk through a gangster city with no protection. Seems stupid as hell.

Music is also not that great, actors aren't great besides the chinese chick i would say.

Who owns what, what are the rules of governance, how can people just walk into buildings with their weapons, etc.

Also this trains just goes through the desert and shoots people.

I couldn't figure out why the train was killing them to begin with. They were going so fast how could a bunch of raiders even bother them. I just didn't understand how either of them were relative to each other. I enjoyed the episode, but the issue for the sand people was completely fabricated.

I THINK this was some sort of call-back to the American West where folks would shoot at buffalo (and probably any native americans that happened to be close enough) from trains, leaving the carcasses to rot. Or the San People DID raid these trains on occasion so the train was just exercising pre-emptive self defense.

But you'd think by now the Tusken Raiders would just avoid the train by getting to cover rather than incur all the losses they did shooting at it.

The train didn't seem a rare occurrence to them. They seemed to even know it would be back again otherwise, Boba's trip to get the speeders would've been pointless.

Well, to be faiiiiiiir the entire "let me go get some bikes" subplot is pretty stupid. Fett isn't a native of Tatooine and AFAICT just goes there at times to accept missions from Jabba. So Boba gets dumped into the Sarlaac pit, escapes, gets looted by Jawas, then captured by Sand People, yet still knows a local bar where he can stroll in, murder the (unknown to him?) rough n ready biker gang, steal their bikes, and then plot a train ambush? Just another example of Fett's "heart of gold" where the plot contrives to have him only punish the truly despicable.

Since this is just a VERY good looking kids show, I'm okay with it. But given how readily available atmospheric capable blaster equipped star ships seem to be in the Star Wars universe, you'd think the cartel would just have some air cover for their next run and exterminate the Sand People entirely. I would LOVE for a war vet to get hired on to write a gritty Star Wars show, but I'm not optimistic.

To be honest that's a fair point. Mando it was OK to suspend disbelief as you knew something cool was going to arrive and it generally did. Can't say I dislike the episodes so far but it was only when someone brought up The Hutts appearing that I realized that I had already watched it and remembered the rest.

It's cool to see the sand people being used a bit more but really unlike 'the Bad Bunch' or some of 'The Clone Wars', the two episodes weren't boring but pretty forgettable. A Story that's unneeded yet I still enjoyed it for what it was, which is the best you can hope for these days with SW considering what they're pumping out.

They made Boba Fett too much of a 'good guy'. First two episodes were boring so far. The wookie character is bad-ass. I wanted a TV show about Boba Fett hunting targets and the seedy underworld crime rings of the star wars universe.

I feel it's a bit unnecessary to have a training montage sequence with the sand people, we already know Boba Fett is a bad ass warrior.

I'm not a fan of John Favreu's episodes of the mandalorian either, hopefully we will get some other directors saving the show.

I don't think it's terrible, I still think it's enjoyable, but I'm hoping it will get better. Mandalorian season 2 was so fantastic.

Why would the guy help those sand people and not just bail? they just beated his ass 24/7 and have nothing to offer. So he can learn to dance with a stick? like wut lol. Dude was one of the best assasssins.

Armored train couldn't snipe 5-6 bikes? but can snipe 3-5 people behind sand hills galaxy size distances away from it? sounds legit.

Then that chinese chick whch is the worst advisor ever.

"we can't deal with 6 ninja's the 2 of them", but she can deal with 4 of them while chasing perfectly fine. Like wut.

Mayor just threatened there ass, thinks walking through the front door without any protection, in a gangster city is smart and doesn't get you killed. Oke man.

Result: ends up being rekt by 6 ninja's, then could easily be rekt by the mayor which does have protection and deletes that ninja in seconds.

Honestly survived on pure luck right there.

The second episode was much better than the first IMO. But overall, the show has been a big disappointment to me so far. I feel like the redemption story skipped way too many chapters between bad ass looking merciless bounty hunter, and a completely sanitized shell of his former self who is only as capable as the storyline needs him to be at any given moment.

It is good enough for me to keep watching though. And if it had come out in between or after Mando season 3 and Obiwan, I might be singing a really different tune right now. Those are the shows I really want.
