Didn't care for the first episode at all. Boba is another one of those characters that should have never taken off the helmet, even back in the clone wars. The lead actor just can't carry the show, he's got no charisma and the action scenes are entirely unbelievable.
I'll give it 1-2 more episodes but this is about what I expected with Disney shlock. Mando was the outlier.

Let's not kid ourselves. If you read the Jeter novels, you had to ask yourself at least a few times how badass Bossk must have been if he considered Fett to be his rival. I mean, dude was vying to head of the bounty hunter guild, wasn't he? Given how much of an asshole he was, I have to think he had some fun adventures along the way. I would actually co-sign to a series on him, assuming Book ends up building that relationship up. I can't remember if Fett offed him in the novels or not.

Uhh Grogu was revealed in the first episode and never heard any backlash except that people felt it was too short.
So that makes no sense also episode 1 was beloved by most fans, the issue with Boba Fett episode 1 is the pacing of the episode.
They made 39 minutes feel long and the first flashbacks were fine but then they turned the Boba Fett crimelord show into camping with the tuskens show.
I hope the plot get's moving in episode 2 because I don't want six episodes of him living with the tuskens, just barely seeing him do any crimelord shit.

It wasn't terrible like the premiere.......but, it was bad. We'll see how it ends up I guess, but I don't share your confidence after what I've seen so far.

It's ok so far I suppose. I don't really like the writing / performance of Fett in this. He is to nice! As soon as he got out of the Sarlacc it's a different character to who was in Empire and Jedi. It would have been more interesting had he changed during the time with the sand people.
The current storyline is better, I liked the twins etc in episode two. This stuff is way more interesting, and it makes sense Fett has changed as we are four years on from Jedi.
But yeah, kind of amateurish. Please no more flashbacks, mix some better ambient noise into some scenes, hire more extras and get a smoke machine to add a bit of depth and colour to interiors. Im watching Seinfeld tonight and watching the classic episode The Fire and realize Jon Favreau is Eric the Clown. Now all these years later writing sw fanfic. That brief scene with the Wookie was one bright spot in another mediocre episode. And having Boba in this tore up white onesie during all these flashbacks just looks ridiculous.

I also wasn't a fan of the first episode. Not only did I find the story uninteresting and the action oddly anemic for a Robert Rodriguez vehicle, but it committed the cardinal sin of any pilot trying to get off the ground: it was boring.

I really wonder if they got Emilia Clarke back to play her character if that's the case given that the leak is all about Qui'Ra from solo leading the Crimson Dawn syndicate.
I mean it makes sense plotwise since the Crimson Dawn is still a powerful syndicate after return of the jedi.

I hated the first episode but found the second episode much more enjoyable. Still not as good as Mandalorian but I'm a bit more invested in the dual storyline. Both the present and the past.
The assassins in the present don't seem to be as straight forward as expected so a nice mystery going on there. And I'm enjoying his relationship with the sandpeople in the past.

Steph Green is the director for the second episode so maybe she's a better fit for this.
Fenec still feels like a none existent character. Reconsidering buying her Black Series figure.

The point of this show is an expansion in the Star Wars universe, deeper character building, introduction new characters, linking this show with other shows and the movies.

Depends on the execution.
If you have this bad ass ruthless bounty hunter who even dared to talk back to Vader in the original trilogy turn into a kind hearted warlord, you better have good writing to make it believable or else it'll probably be seen as Disney continuing to destroy the SW brand.

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but I was taken in by the the Mandalorian and was quit sad after the finale. The first episode of The Book of Boba Fett didn't really sell it to me but the second episode did with the Tuskens and Boba on speeders robbing the train.

I just finished the second episode. Ai agree that it was far, far better. The action was great, the story moved along apace, and the political intrigue is just getting started. Even the camerawork was better.
I like how they're showing how Boba was never just a suit of armor or merely destined to follow in his father's footsteps. He's his own man here, a born leader and pragmatist, very unlike his loner assassin father. He reminds me of my chaotic good character in Pathfinder: Kingmaker ruling over his barony - no need to follow the letter of law so long as what is right and just is being done.
I would not be surprised if that Tuskan dance at the end was a nod to Morrison's Maori background.

Overall, its ok at best (sofar).
I did like the story in ep2 with the whole "tribe-thing" but holy fuck the trainpart was beyond retarded.
Stormtroopers cant hit a crowd of people in a tunnel with a widespread shotgun blaster.
The trainfuckers went 200mph on a train and shot a blaster across the entire desert and nailing what, 20 sandpeople behind dunes with no issues and that was just the beginning of the stupidity.
Oh also, supersecret VIP assassin isnt afraid of death, but is afraid of a rancor, did i miss anything? Are they known for raping people or what? There has to be something more than the fear of getting ripped apart?

I'm pretty lukewarm on the first two episodes, but that's how I felt about The Mandalorian pretty much the whole way through. I suppose I'm just captivated enough to hold on for more and see if it gets better. I have a very soft spot for Boba.
I think I'm always wanting Star Wars to be a little more of something it's not, which is my own problem. I feel like it has so many elements I love in terms of fantasy-storytelling, but everything just feels so...safe.
And this might be related or it might not be, but I really wish they'd utilize language-translators more, or even subtitles. It's funny how our suspension-of-disbelief works, right? Well, there's something about aliens speaking English that really rubs me the wrong way. Especially when they aren't even human. I can forgive the humans, but shouldn't aliens have different vocal chords? Wouldn't the atmosphere be more palpable if aliens on a distant world didn't speak like Ned Flanders or Steve Erwin?
And someone help me out with this - When it comes to the proxy who was sent by the mayor to meet with Boba Fett, was that just another really mediocre actor or was it the English language again taking me out of the scene? Probably both.
Maybe I should just stick to Dune.

Well they are. They aren’t canon. The shows are already set in the Heir to the Empire time (5 years after ROTJ) and Thrawn was sucked into a portal by a giant space squid nearly 10 years ago. Next time we’d see him is in Ahsoka most likely.

I am staying away from this show for reasons like this. I grew up with an image of Tosche station in my head and a version of Boba Fett's origin/adventures that I guess I just never wanted to see.
I've always adored BF for the fact that he basically has two or three lines yet everyone respects and fears him. He even talks shit to Vader, and Vader kinda takes it.
It's what I hate about SW most recently. Come up with new characters and new locations. Feels like the smallest universe ever when it's nothing but callbacks to shit from 40 years ago.
A tv series based on KOTOR would be incredible as it would all be new and there would be room for more mythology and characters instead of the current, in-bred SW content where everyone knows everyone and is related or worked together.
Apologies for the venting as I haven't even seen the show, but all I hear is "Tatooine" and "Jabba" and "Tosche" and it makes me feel like I have made the right choice.
