"UK LOSES EXCESS POUNDS WITH THIS ONE WEIRD TRICK! EU HATES THEM!"

From the way I'm reading that, it seems similar to the Freedom Caucus basically driving Boehner to retire and having enough say to replace him with Ryan. I hope I got that right.

The difference is that the Freedom Caucus or Ryan still couldn't do something as serious as this without the Senate and President agreeing to it as well.

It amuses me that the same Bankers who crashed the world economy in 2008 are being seen as the ultimate financial barometer in the biggest political shift in decades today as they go on their feeding frenzy clusterfuck.

Funny thing politics.

Its great news for the UK games industry, and that's a fact. A strong pound means development is relatively expensive.

Same for the company I work for (a film production company) - almost all our costs are in £'s but most of our clients are in the US and the middle East. My boss actually was part of this weird pressure group that wanted to devalue the pound because it helps exports (it didn't actually do anything IIRC, they just met up for breakfast every few months and talked about how 'strong' and 'weak' wasn't helpful language because it suggests 'good' and 'bad' where as really, what's good and what's bad depends on what you're doing).

• "Historian's fallacy"

"The historian's fallacy is an informal fallacy that occurs when one assumes that decision makers of the past viewed events from the same perspective and having the same information as those subsequently analyzing the decision. It is not to be confused with presentism, a mode of historical analysis in which present-day ideas (such as moral standards) are projected into the past."

The leave campaign was right. EU regulations were inflating prices. Now what used to cost a $1.50 is already down to a $1.30.

Just in case you're serious, a decrease in relative value of the currency will increase the cost of goods and services generally speaking.

So if I wanted to invest in pounds, not physical pounds but like, a fund, how would I do that?

Forex market. But market closing for the weekend so you want to see what happens Monday and especially Tuesday.

Google babypips and look at their school section to get a grasp on what forex is and how it works.

Very proud of the article in the Italian constitution that reads "Economic matters cannot be put up to referendum" at the moment.

It's good news for all industries which export.
It's not good news for the quality of life in general, since shit gets more expensive.

Told my wife to keep a look at the exchange rate throughout the day. We're honeymooning in London next year and we need to stock up on currency when it's cheap.

Sorry UKGAF. Our treasure for your trash.

book your cheap holidays now! come see the United Kingdom while you still can!

i guess it's good news for people outside who can get stuff on the cheap from us now but i feel we've made a huge mistake. i think it's quite possible that the UK as know it won't exist in 5-10 years. looks like scotland will hold another independence referendum. there is talk of ireland uniting again but i don't know how that'll go.

Steadily rebounding now as the initial panic has subsided. Expect much wobbling but the 'we are doomed!' Kneejerk is mostly done.

The Pound is sliding against the Dollar
Was 1.388 an hour ago. Now 1.370

Steadying at 1.375 for a while. I think the market is stabilising for a while. Although the opening of NYSE could damage the currency a bit more. Having said, Nikkei's demise could balance things in UK's favour.
