Dead by Daylight single-player cinematic horror game The Casting of Frank Stone will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 3, publisher Behaviour Interactive and developer Supermassive Games announced.

The standard edition is priced at $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs $49.99. The latter includes instant access to “The Cutting Room Floor,” a new feature that allows you to return to key decision points in the story and change a character’s outcome or track down missed collectibles, as well as eight exclusive costumes. Pre-orders are available now.

Purchasing either edition of the game will unlock exclusive rewards in Dead by Daylight, including:
  • “Frank Stone Mask” cosmetic for The Trapper (Deluxe Edition exclusive)
  • “Frank Stone” badge and banner (Deluxe Edition exclusive)
  • Three Rellik doll charms (Deluxe Edition exclusive)
  • “Murder Mill” shirt cosmetic for all Original Survivors
  • “Murder Mill” badge and banner
  • Two million Bloodpoints

Dacvak

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
So the deluxe edition includes checkpoints? Bit annoying to lock that behind a paywall.

PSA: game launched with massive performance bug

If you enable Film Grain or Motion Blur under Visual Settings, it makes the game drop to 20-30fps with the worst screen tearing you’ve ever seen.

To fix, turn off both settings, quit the game fully to the PS5 /XSX dashboard, then re-launch game and it should go back to 60fps with no screen tearing.

Crazy they didn’t catch this bug in QA.

Horrible ass game.

How does Supermassive basically regress every damn time?

There is so little gameplay or choices even that it is laughable. It's boring as shit story wise until the last 15 minutes. Seriously nothing happens for almost the entire game until the very end.

Haven't played it to comment, but I really wonder what is going on with storytelling in the last decade. Every show meanders and drags out for 8 to 10 hour long episodes, making little to no progress until you get thrown into a cliff hanger at season's end, or you get thrown several new plot threads to keep stringing viewers along. It seems like they start with a good premise, have strong first episode or two, and then nothing but filler happens until end of the penultimate episode. After playing more of The Dark Pictures Anthology games, and even The Quarry, it seems like they take the same approach. Seems worse though because they clearly don't have a large budget to be able to do these, and they keep being churned out.
