Lets continue disaster movie cheese as they are guilty pleasure movies.

The Core is about to nuking Earths dying core while Sunshine is about nuking the suns dying core.

Which one do you like better?

Sunshine, without a doubt for me. It falls a bit apart towards the end when the guy reveals himself, but before that and the last scene it is an amazing movie, beautiful OST and acting. Actually it is one of my favourite Danny Boyle movies along with Shallow Grave and Trainspotting. The core is more of a disaster movie that does what every disaster movie does. Nothing really stands out about it.

I spit on the heretics who vote Core as the better film.

It's not just common knowledge that Sunshine is better, it's an absolute 100% fact.

If I had to pick one, it's The Core. But they're both great.

I really like sunshine but then watched it with my GF a few years later and just thought it was super lame.

never seen the core

The Core is crap. Sunshine is visually stunning and its soundtrack is absolutely amazing, only let down by the final act when it turns from a good sci-fi movie to a horror slasher, just bizarre.

Sunshine, if it was not for the last quarter, would be a masterpiece: The acting, the score, the suffocating atmosphere...Everything, aside from the inclusion of you know-what/who, is absolutely great. The Core is cheesy garbage disaster flick...

Never watched sunshine but i enjoyed how stupid and cheesy the core was.

I really need to see sunshine soner or later...

Sunshine's a legit fantastic movie when you forget about the ending, it's not cheesy disaster.

This thread seems to be full of crazy people. The Core is bad? The last part of Sunshine is bad? What?
I think you guys just don't like movies.

Sunshine has some incredible cinephotography, even though I think it drags her and there. The core is an utter drag.

Sunshine for me. The final act goes in a weird direction but everything else was great. The core is a disaster cheese movie dialled to 11 😂

Yeah Sunshine is actually a *good* film compared to 99% of disaster flicks.

Sunshine made a strong lasting impression. When Piistol Star was first posted by Chevelle the second half guitar work brought me vividly right back to being immersed in the final descent scene of the movie. When Pete Loeffler posted the inspiration for the song was Sunshine a few days after release that was a great confirmation of their talent to convey meaning and the impression the movie made on them. It's not like every song or movie about the Sun does this. There isn't even a clear reference to Sunshine in the track, what I found connected it for me was on a subconscious and emotional level.
