Batman Begins: 9/10
Batman : 9/10
Batman Returns: 8.5/10
Batman Forever: 5/10
Batman & Robin: -4/10

switch the scores for batman and batman returns and this is pretty close to what my list would look like. maybe drop the original batman to an 8.0.

still, nicholson blowing away jack palance then sitting down in his desk chair, sighing, and saying, "ohhh, what a day," like he just got a flat tire is classic.

Batman Begins: 9/10 (Katie Holmes drags down the movie a bit, and shaky cam + awkward dialog drag it from a perfect score)
Batman: 7/10 (Keaton's great, and Nicholson's worth watching even though he's not really the Joker)
Batman Returns: 6/10 (Michelle Pfeiffer + Michael Keaton made this watchable)
Batman Forever: 5/10 (Meh. Hate what they did to Two-Face, among other atrocities)
Batman & Robin: OMGWTF

I'm reserving a 10/10 for TDK if Ledger pulls off the Joker as well as Hamill did.

This is the correct list.

Cillian Murphy will be added to that list once it is made official since leaks have shown Scarecrow is 100% in the film and has a sizable role.

And don't go OMG SPOILER on me. A main bad guy in a film is NOT a spoiler.

I GO OMG SPOILER ON YOU

Sweet news.

...didn't like the villains? Scarecrow, Ra's, and Falcone are three of the coolest characters from the franchise, ESPECIALLY Scarecrow.

i didn't like the way they handled the Scarecrow, a tazer gun, really? :/

It's not like he died or was defeated at all...in fact I like how they dealt with him more than any other way they've "dealt" with enemies in any of the previous Batman movies.

That's much more Batman like, to me anyway. Batman (or in this case Rachel Dawes to the rescue lawl) stops his main villains, but only slightly.

He's coming back for The Dark Knight...for sure.

Indeed, only Begins would get a 9.5 from me.

Yup. Good stuff, guys.

The Dark Knight, if handled correctly, will completely solidify my growing sentiment that Christopher Nolan cannot make a bad film and is probably the best director under the age of 40 in Hollywood. (Although I still like M. Night Shyamalan.)

HOLY MOTHER****ING SHIT

SPOILER:
the bats head is different, before it was flat, now it has a slightly raised part (between the ears)

Yes and
you get to see the joker from someone under his fear gas and apparently the joker looks AWESOME when seen from the fear gas perspective.
You know, I'm willing to bet they use that scene from the comics where
the Scarecrow gasses the Joker to "see what he's afraid of". Then the Joker just laughs it off and beats him with a chair.

Batman Begins: 9.5
Batman: 9.5
Batman Returns: 8.5
Batman Forever: 5
Batman and Robin: 3

it depends on how you see the Burton Batman movie, it was a fine stand alone movie, but if you were a big Batman fan, your opinion would be really changed.

and none of you guys are rating the 1966 Batman movie

Batman Forever: 7/10 (Under-rated)
Batman & Robin: 3/10

I think you nailed it there. I would probably subtract a half point from the Burton films, but otherwise perfect.

Agreed, Nicole Kidman was smokin' hot in that movie.

As for The Dark Knight, outside of Liam Neeson - yes, that is close to the greatest comic book movie cast ever.

Liam Neeson needs to be in more movies. Everything he touches almost instantly becomes a classic, AAA movie.

I assume that's why you added the "almost"

Well it doesn't help that I hate Tim Burton with a passion, and I only liked his Batman when I was young and didn't understand quality. Then again some would argue that I still don't understand quality but that is beside the point. :lol

perfect.

the shaky cam did not work at all in begins and holmes...why was she even there in the first place? she was useless, but thank god she isn't going to be in the dark night :D

Return of Scarecrow would wow me. I thought he was really well done in the first, and so far Joker seems to be portrayed in my fav version of the character. Not having to do the origin again means this has potential to be twice the movie Begins was.

Yeah, that's a huge plus. Every ****ing scene she does this little smile out the corner of her mouth and it drove me insane. Because once you see it... well, y'know.

The only scene where shaky cam worked for me was when Falcone was trying to get a look at what the hell was going on at the docks.

I hope there's none of that, "It's what I DO that DEFINES me" or "No, THIS is your REAL mask!" shit in TDK. Batman Returns did both of those lines/scenes in one scene that was the highlight of the film for me (and probably the best scene of the Burton Batmans).

From what I understand, Cillian Murphy isnt returning. Someone else will be playing the role.

The amount of 10's for BB is sickening. Its a great comic book flick, and a darn good movie period, but how anyone can give a perfect score to a movie that becomes a generic and frankly boring action flick in the final act is beyond me. Its almost a 10 BEFORE he becomes Batman though (the first 40-50 minutes is perfection, and easily the best part of the movie), but it descends rapidly into standard action fare once he actually becomes Batman. I think an 8.5 or so is a much more reasonable score.

WHAT? NO! :( I am fine with Maggie replacing Holmes cause Holmes was meh. But why not Cillain Murphy? Ugh.

Dont take my word for it, but I can recall reading this 1-2 different places. Youll have to find your own source, as I am feeling lazy. So I could be wrong, but I dont think I am.

Also, I must also say that despite usually hating Zimmer and being indifferent towards Newton Howard, possibly my favorite thing about BB is the score. 2 years later and I still love it. People bitch about it lacking a theme like Elfman's score for B89, but screw that.

honestly, adding him to the actors already involved makes the cast seem pretty crowded. i could cherry-pick two of almost any of these guys, and i could watch an entire movie involving just those two. for the sake of experimentation, some random pulls:

- bale and eckhart
- oldman and caine
- freeman and ledger

i mean, if i saw any of those on a movie poster, i'd be really interested. there are a lot of great people involved, and i'm curious how they're going to handle them all in one movie; i worry a lot of people will be criminally wasted (a la madsen in sin city).

The level of awfulness that Madsen achieved in 2 minutes of screentime in SC makes me glad thats all he got. I love Madsen, but good lord was he terrible in SC.

yeah, he was pathetic.
i wasn't even wild about him in kill bill. he looks seriously out of work and out of shape, and as much as it fit the role in that, i still couldn't help getting "meta" on the movie and realizing he'd probably just strolled over from the set of vampires anonymous or one of his other paycheck roles.

it's been a while since i thought he seriously rocked.

but that's all beside the point. that t.d.k. cast is loaded, and at some point such a large cast starts to weigh a movie down.

Nestor Carbonell (Smokin' Aces) has joined the cast of Warner Bros.' The Dark Knight. He'll play the mayor of Gotham in Christopher Nolan's Batman Returns sequel, hitting theaters on July 18, 2008.

Carbonell has a recurring role on ABC's "Lost" and stars alongside Jimmy Smits in "Cane," a CBS drama picked up for fall.

The actor played Batmanuel in the "The Tick" live-action series, which was an obvious parody of Batman. The character was similar to Die Fledermaus of the animated series.

Have they decided on the look of The Joker yet? I like this one (He looks like a twisted, sick ****...which is exactly what he's supposed to look like).
