Jesus. Have none of you guys ever realized that James Bond films are only enjoyable because he's a completely incompetent spy? The guy yells his name out when entering a room, blows shit up, and kills people all willy nilly. I'm not saying spy movies have to accurately depict espionage, but Bond isn't really up Nolan's alley.

Zing!

Alfred was the one who poorly constructed those boards to the opening of the cave! He created Batman on purpose!

FOR A SECRET GOVERNMENT PROGRAM

Holy fuck. That would be an amazing movie. Alfred has been secretly shaping Batman's insane crusade for thirty years. It puts a whole new twist on The Batman Complex.

He imported the bats to Gotham and planted the fear in his head. He planted the arrowhead. He encouraged Earle to put Fox in R&D, to give Bruce an ally on his quest. He had the previous DA gunned down to create a power vacuum. He encouraged dissent during Dent's press conference (Why else would someone just blatantly flout authority and scream "NO MORE DEAD COPS!" if someone didn't push him?). He listed Melvin White as the suspect, an obvious trap. He brought Harvey's burned suit to Harvey (why would they keep it around? It's bloody and burned, but it was somehow given to him!).

All of this is pushing towards something, something three decades in the making. Why create a Batman!? He took a normal traumatized eight year old, and turned him into an urban spec-ops soldier that has no fear. He sews up the closest thing has to a son in the morning and sends him out to bloody the enemy at night.

He's behind... all of it. Batman. The freaks of Gotham. The poverty and despair.

But... why?

I'm dropping in to say that Fassbender as Bond would be more awesome than Bale as Bond.

Alfred finally reveals that he was the one who paid Joe Chill to murder the Waynes. He caused the economic downturn. He gained access to the Wayne fortune and funded R'as. He smuggled in the blue flowers for Crane to experiment with and handed him the mask. He's the one who cut up Joker's face years before and twisted him into what he is. He rigged the barrels to blow when Harvey and Rachel were in the warehouses. He
torched Bane's village
to find that bandit. He killed Edward Nigma before the Riddler could be revealed cause it was an annoying concept as a Seven-esque serial killer.

And now... his end game is revealed. What will it be?

"Why do we fall, Bruce?"

Bane will be the villain for the first 2 hours, then Selena becomes Catwoman for the last 30 minutes after Bruce breaks up with her. Large battle ensues, Bane kills Catwoman thus causing Batman to finally break his "no killing" rule. Disgusted with himself, Batman retreats to the Bat Cave and watches surveillance video of Selena, crying. He then stumbles across a hidden video that reveals Alfred killed his parents and works for Ra's Al Ghul. Cue exposition scene, end with Batman opening his eyes. Then Alfred appears in the doorway and asks "something wrong Master Wayne?" Closeup shot of Batman's face.

THE END

This killed me.

Fairley sure Nolan has said he wants to do a Howard Hughes biopic before Aviator.

I'd be really interested in that, and not just cause its Nolan.

I... would pay loads of money to watch that.

I dunno, he's done a good job of inaccurately portraying Batman I think he'd do awesome with Bond.

He said that a long time ago. Apparently he became quite disheartened when Scorsese unleashed the awesome that was The Aviator.

Nolan is a theatrical cut = director's cut kind of guy.

I really hope that, one day, he realizes that there are some fairly important changes to be made in TDK.

Namely, that bloodless full frame shot of the guy being shot and the asian guy being silently burned alive.

I know both were done to ensure the pg-13 rating... but I think the lack of blood/screaming really hinders the realism and impact of both scenes.

People sat through ROTK, but they were conditioned by the previous two. Anything over 3 hours would be an interesting jump for Warner to sign off on.

I'm assuming that this is the cut before the scenes become tightly edited. Most of what will be taken out isn't actual content, just pauses before and after takes or between lines to tighten up the dialog. And some scenes/lines probably just won't work and be taken out too.

I know how it all works. Because of his last two movies for Warner Bros., Nolan has the clout to get 3 hours if the pure content is there. That's all i'm saying.

Ah, fair enough. I'd be super impressed if nolan can make a 3 hour long, pitch perfectly paced movie though.

I love the man, but since Memento he really has had a rough time keeping that 3rd act running on all cylinders.

Inception's third act was fine. It's the second act that sagged badly.

Well, I liked the latter half of the third act (once they had gotten into the fortress and into limbo... or are you considering that the start of the 3rd act). I just didn't care for the assault on the fortress that much... I was expecting some action on par with the hallway sequence to close out the action. Instead we just got some (admittedly decent) james bond esque snow battles.

What about Robin ? JGL is a cop with a double life, he has a burlesque pole dancing act at a local transvestite bar... his scene name is Robin, he has a red leotard, a green scarf and a mask.

Neither of those are fairly important changes. Collectively they make up about 15 seconds (if that) of a two and a half hour long film; plus, like you said..it's inconceivable that either could have made it into a PG13 film.

Again, there are no reports that the cut was 4 hours long. It was a dumb comment by the journalist.

This. Nolan rarely shoots things that don't end up in the final cut, and there's no way he'd ever put himself in a situation where he had to remove roughly a third from the finished product. The MTV journalist in question was ironically suggesting that while a cut of the film now exists, it's probably nowhere near close to being complete. Thanks tips, news at 11. Anyways, his poor writing skills made it seem like he was reporting the film to be 4 hours long.

I don't think Tom Hardy would make a convincing Bond. Bale in the other hand.

TDKR's opening action sequence is already better than any action sequence in QoS.

Hi Solo.

Michael Fassboner as Bond.

Please <3

Best part of a Nolan Bond film is that it would easily make more money than any other Bond film and be the face of the franchise for centuries to come.

HI SOLO

Solo's in da house. He's going to read all the Bond stuff from yesterday. :O

I had a dream last night that this movie was already out and it had a 60% on rottentomatoes and I was just really depressed. Also, I got killed and became a ghost who haunted beetlejuice for some reason

Drink whenever Alfred/Fox calls Bruce, Mr. Wayne.

Or when batman is referred to as The Bat or The Batman

Just figured that one out last night.

They're important with regards to the scenes that they take place in. They are supposed to be dark, twisted scenes but small things like that really take a viewer out when they notice.

The full frame shot could have been done just by showing him being shot from behind (so we his back as he is shot from the front)... but it would have sent a different message than Nolan intended.

However, the screaming is hard to get around... unless they just killed off the guy a different way. But I think it is important because I know a lot of people who didn't realize he was actually being burned alive.

Had a weird dream where I watched a scene from this movie

The scene started with Bane talking to a beaten up batman about a school for crazy kids.... like if they took every kid that knew how to use a knife and put on the same school with criminals as teachers. Lots of kids cutting each other and stuffs like that

It showed a big bully, 2 girls (one with short hair and one with long) and a skinny kid in the middle of everything.
From the start it was obvious that the skinny would be a fanservice/easter egg for the riddler and the short haired kid would be Selina.

And then the flashback showed how it was to live there trogh some kind of archive footage that didn't showed the teachers.

And it had 3 "wow" moments.

The first was when some kids tryed to kill each other (it was a gory dream) and one of the teachers entered in the shot and it was a young Lian Nesson.

The second was when the bully punched the long haired girl (wich was by far the most sick bastard of the kids) and while he said "HEY WHITE FACE, YOU CAN CALL ME BANE" he took her knife and ... cut her face like Joker's, implying that joker didn't had any paper about him because he was a female to male trans O.o

And then the flashback ended and bane looked at the camera (still alking to batman), took his mask off and said "and this is the story of my NAME" and without the mask we saw that he has the same scars that joker had, with very few frames showing a flashback of him escaping the prision and bulking up in the 12 year gap, implying that Bane's toxin IS this universe Joker's venom.

and then i wake up xD
It was so crazy that I HAD to share

Also, good morning
