Just noticed the steps in the prison look like the Chand Baori stairwell. One of the India shooting locations?

Must've been. Looks too similar.

Erm... excuse my naivete when I ask this, but, based on the leaked trailer:
Why don't the military intervene as soon as Bane starts acting as less like a localised criminal threat and more like a national terrorist? It just seems (particularly) unbelievable that Batman would have to go it alone, as it were.

See, that's what I thought as well, but then I saw THIS story from IGN a few days ago that says differently. So now I'm confused.

I had no idea. So maybe to make up for the fact that digital IMAX theaters are not getting the prologue, they are attaching the trailer?

That would be awesome for people who don't live near truMAX or in Vegas.

...because there's gotta be a Batman.

Supposedly the
attack on the football field is meant to show off some kind of device he has. Logic dictates that he's sending a message to those outside Gotham to not intervene, or he'll use it on a larger scale.

The same logic by which
Batman thinks that he can covertly defeat Bane, while the military's own black op teams think that they can't?
: P

There hasn't been an official HQ for anything yet.

I see. I misunderstood and thought that Shady Spaces posts were refering to an accidental leak of the official HQ trailer that's supposed to be up next week.

I wanna know what banes mask does!!?? Doesnt it allow him to not feel pain or something?

I'll spoiler this just to be safe but
yeah. He is fucked up some how (been a couple different rumors as to why) so the mask keeps him from being in constant pain. Don't know that that means he literally can't feel pain with it or if it's just dulled or what.

EDIT: Beaten. Damn it.

Fuck you, mang! Yes, his GL score was wretched. But he`s still twice the composer Zimmer is and TDKR is hurt by his absense.

Solo, when we disagree, it's like fff...

But when we agree, it's like FFFFFF

Could not agree more. James Newton Howard rapes Zimmer.

If they didn't step in when the Joker took over the city, why would they now?

The music did sound good in the prologue and I'm sure it will be a good score, but I'd be way more optimistic if JNH were going it alone.

Zimmer is fantastic too, but his forte is bombastic cues, while JNH's is subtle, emotionally resonant cues. Thats why they were such a great pairing. Yin and yang.

Now, Zimmer did compose "Time" for Inception, so he is improving in the other area.

You know I honestly didn't think very highly of the first two soundtracks. I dunno. There's good stuff there, I liked the Joker motif, but overall both scores just kind of felt like they lacked some life or something.

Basically when it was announced that they were teaming up I thought for sure they'd be some of the best movie scores of all time.

Really? BB's score is my favorite in the past decade. Zimmer nailing dat bombast with Molossus etc. and JNH massaging my heart with Eptesicus etc. A perfect storm.

I wasn't very fond of TDK's score though. It was too Zimmer heavy which made it less than surprising when it was announced that TDKR would be only Zimmer.

I don't think that, based on what we've seen so far, the Joker was as much of a national threat as Bane is proclaiming to be.

I don't know man, he took over a city and tried to hold it ransom. If that's not an act of large scale terrorism that demands military intervention I don't know what is.

Eh, Bane's forces still seem more threatening, but I guess we'll see how it plays out as we receive more media.

Well I'll be going to a 9pm showing tonight, so I'll report back if they end up showing the trailer or not. It's not a big deal if they are not showing it, but it'd be a nice bonus.

I hope Nolan does a backstory for Bane. The one thing I'm disappointed with both Batman films are that the villains just show up. Even in BB, Ras spends the time to train Bruce and we get some insight to his beliefs, we dont actually know how he arrived at them. Same with Scarecrow, he just messes with people using his mask because .. ? In TDK, we didnt even have that for Joker. The only backstory we got was for Two-Face but he wasnt the main villain.

Doing a backstory for Joker is one of the worst ideas of the last decade.

Nolan talked about why he deliberately avoided a backstory for the Joker: He's supposed to be a force of nature, elemental, the embodiment of chaos to match Batman's order.

Humanizing him detracts from the character. Who really knows or cares? His inconsistent stories about how he got the scars are far better than a real backstory.
