Awwww yeah, not my usual theater - but this will have to suffice. It was literally the only one listed

In my experience, midnight crowds are a lot better than Friday/Saturday night crowds. They can be loud before the movie starts, but they've been extremely well behaved when the movie starts. Deathly Hallows 2's midnight had by far the most attentive crowd I've ever seen a movie with.

Yup. The hardcore fans watch it at midnight, and they are usually more respectful during the film. Fri/Sat night crowds are usually horrible.

All that needs to be determined is whether I'll wait and see it with friends on Friday or Saturday night, or duck out of work early on Friday and catch a matinee...........

Decisions!

Had to venture back into this thread to bitch. Fandango is telling me no events available for the theater near me that is doing the marathon of all three.

AMC shows it and then links me there, nothing. Called them, they told me to come in and buy them. I'm four hours away right now.

Managed to snag 10 tickets to the Irvine Spectrum IMAX midnight showing for friends and family. It sold out in a couple minutes! All the real IMAX screens in the LA area sold out their midnight tickets a while back, so I had to go with plan B.

there's only what, 3 real IMAX screens in the whole area right? Universal City, The Bridge and Spectrum?

Trilogy pack is not at Lincoln Square?

BTW the midnight show at Lincoln Square has been sold out for 6 months. It was put on sale back in December and sold out within minutes.

Court Street is trueMax? 14 sounds damn cheap. I bought Lincoln Square IMAX tickets at $20 each.

I live in Brooklyn, Court Street is nearest theater.

And no, not IMAX. Just regular movie. Shall do the IMAX thing afterwards. Want to see it opening night so no one ruins!

Keep refreshing. Happened to me for the same theater but I got through.

Got it!! 6:15pm Saturday July 21st. I'll have to destroy any and all internet devices I have until then.

effzee, did you get yours through Fandango? I ordered 3 adult tickets (it even says 3 adult in my confirmation email) but when I go to print it, it's only one page. Did you (or anyone else) have the same issue? Am I missing something obvious?

Edit: I plan on wearing a batman t shirt. Because I'm unique like that.

Wait, where do I get midnight IMAX showings? Not seeing any on AMC's site or Fandango. Was hoping to go to the midnight marathon in IMAX.
AMC hasn't released the locations that are doing this yet. My theater isn't showing IMAX midnights yet, and I think it may be because they're negotiating for the marathon.

The one page counts for all the tickets you purchased. On the printed page it should say something like, "3 Adult tickets to (enter show/time here)".

11:50 AM Saturday Navy Pier.

This motherfucker is ready.

Did you get a confirmation email yet? I got an error for that exact time right as I checked out. Never got the ok from the website that my sale went through. But my credit card was charged. I'm not sure what happened. What a disaster. Midnight was sold out before I could even find the show.

Already answered but yeah all three are on that one page.

I am going to the same theater same day but the show before yours! Been to this theater before? Biggest screen in the country (US) and best theater too. trueMAX and sound is amazing. Just make sure you get there 2-3 hours in advance.

For The Dark Knight we showed up at 3-4 for the 8pm show and we still behind 15 people or so. So yeah lots of people will be there early, especially for the evening/night shows.

I went with the Universal Citywalk IMAX, despite it being reviewed by terrible in every metric simply for the Real IMAX experience. I also care more about the seating than I do for the showtimes, so it's Saturday 10 AM screening for me.

I don't care if the parking prices are extortion or that the showtime is far too early for any kind of hype, I just want my first IMAX viewing experience alone to blow me away.

AMC sucks balls. They shouldn't have advertised IMAX Marathons if they weren't ready. Lincoln Square has been sold out for months so i knew they weren't going to have a IMAX marathon. So instead i buy 2 FakeMAX tickets at times square, Now being told it was a mistake and was for digital instead. Now have to wait for the IMAX tickets to go up to buy them again and get a refund on the other pair. Stupid AMC.

I have, but thanks for the preparation advice! I was planning on bringing a lunch and getting there around 1/2pm for 6:15pm. Managed a good seat for Avatar there opening weekend, so I'm hoping this is similar.

And yep, re: sound/screen. If I wasn't seeing it on this screen, I wasn't seeing it this weekend.

Enjoy! It feels real now! I'm holding a ticket! haha.

The first 12-16 hours of the OT will be "greatest film of all times!@#$%^&*()_+{}|:"<>?" hyperbole type stuff anyways, so I'll be happy to miss that.
