Are you guys saying all the good seats are booked out at BFI IMAX?

I'd figure so. If you had plans of seeing this film in the first two weeks at the BFI IMAX i'd adjust your plans.

The website is still messing around and a lot of people have basically been legging it to the IMAX to grabs seats for any showing.

Wait....in uk u get assigned seating ?

It's the only fair way. The early birds get the pick of the best seats and the lulu lates get the neck cramp seats.

It means, it's much more relaxed in the foyer as people already know they have a seat so their is no need for aggressive behaviour.

Okay, so most of us know which legit IMAX's are near us for DKR, but in case you didn't know:

http://lfexaminer.com/theaUSA.htm

Here's a list of all theaters in the world. The Real IMAX's not LIEMAX's are labeled in the format 1570. The ones that are labeled "D" under format are Digital(LIEMAX's) If you can, try to make a trip to one of the 1570 theaters since the DKR has 1 hour+ of IMAX footage and was made to be viewed that way. International theaters you can just click the tabs on the left.

Sweet, seems to look like the IMAX theater in downtown Birmingham is actually going to show TDKR. It's almost exclusively showing just the science IMAX films. 1570 2D Dome 280 seats. I've not been there before, but I rather do it than digital "IMAX"

Alright, thanks. Also what's the news with the screen and projection at BFI?
Did someone say they changed the screen or something?

Looks like weekdays in August should be good enough as school's off then.

I guess thats true but that would also mean ow are not that good as they could be as people see the best seats gone and then wait to buy tickets once thry are available

Tdkr about to conquer australia

The Dark Knight Rises midnight show 5 weeks away

How are there no divided rows?

There better be toilets in the middle seats

Yeah they're installing a new screen in the next few weeks just before they show TDKR.

I think it's cutting Prometheus IMAX run short (but that's probably for the best)

New screen doesn't mean it's not 4K projection any more, right?

Seen Prometheus there last Saturday. The tickets itself aren't expensive but fuck, £20 for train every time.

Going to murder bitches if I don't get my midnight IMAX ticket...bitches will be slain...

Tdkr is looking to make more in imax screens alone on midnight than Battleship and John Carter did in all screens on midnight and OD combined

Classic Solo, trying to twist his way after fucking up. The trailers for Prometheus are spoiler heavy but they dont show
a magical flute
in the trailers like the Batmobile is shown in the TDKR trailers. I'm not sure if the
religious tones
were show in the trailer either. But yeah, nice spin there homie.

It's a fucking woodwind instrument. Get over it.

Here's what I got on Henry Ford IMAX site

Featuring over 1 hour of footage shot with IMAX 70mm film cameras
Beginning July 20, be one of the first to experience the most highly anticipated motion picture event of 2012, "The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX® Experience," as only The Henry Ford IMAX Theatre can show it to you: via REAL 15-perforation/70mm film. The Henry Ford IMAX Theatre is also the only IMAX venue in Michigan where you can experience 100% of the power and magnitude of over 1 hour of footage shot with IMAX 70mm film cameras by director Christopher Nolan. During these scenes, images will completely fill our 62-foot-tall by 85-foot-wide screen (Michigan’s largest) in the classic TRUE IMAX 4:3 aspect ratio, encompassing your entire peripheral vision. This motion picture event is not to be missed!

Special midnight premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience" on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Doors open at 10:30 pm. Showtime is 12:01 am.

Tickets go on sale Monday, June 11, at 12 noon

Which means I'll have get there before 10:30 if I want to secure a damn good seat

For TDK I got there 3 hours early and was probably number 10 or so in line. I expect 3 hours early is the minimum if you want to sit anywhere near the middle this time around.

I'm bringing my fully charged iPad and camping for...5 hours maybe?! I DONT KNOW!

Disclaimer: This is at the biggest and best IMAX in the area by far.

Mmm...Fandango is chugging already. This is going to be interesting...

I'm paranoid about these kinds of things, but I'm planning to go to the general area of the theater after work, probably getting to my local IMAX at 6:30.

Every time I go there, I get bad seats, not gonna let it happen this time

Guaranteed there will be several people in this thread who will see it multiple times opening weekend (day?).

Nolan GAF is Cray GAF.

For reference, I got to Prometheus an hour early and was probably #100 in line. The King of Prussia IMAX is not to be fucked with!

Yeah I went to that one for TRON Legacy, it was pretty impressive. But it didn't hold as many people as I thought it would.

Yeah, I was quite surprised at the seating size when I saw Ghost Protocol.

I know there's another IMAX located the Detroit Science Center, but I've never been there

People on the internet see movies multiple times opening weekend all the time. Nothing special about Nolan fans.

I'm wondering if a 10:40AM Friday show is great since it's so early...or if it'll be a madhouse since it's the first show regular showing. Liemax theatre, btw.

I don't know how to figure out which IMAX is a real one and not a fake. Would I be better off going to a cinema that has an IMAX theater or just try to buy tickets at the Museum that I would think has a true IMAX?

If you're talking Philly...do NOT go see it at the museum. Dome IMAX vs. True IMAX at KOP.

LOAD YOU FUCKS!

Still not available for purchase...AH!
