It's so close now. The release of this film will be off the fucking chain. Opening weekend will be pure Bane-sanity. Virtually everyone loved the last film, it left such a splash and the hype for this is tremendous. As for me, I hope it's better than The Dark Knight and since I wasn't quite as ecstatic for it as most, I think it's very possible.

Anne Hathaway thinks the movie will be surprising? Difficult to see how considering the 4 trailers and number of tv spots we have gotten.
I think at the very least it will be a good movie. It's not going to be shit

MIB3 already broke the comic book threequel curse.
Though I guess I can see why one wouldn't count that, I SUPPOSE
A lot of us, me included, felt the same about TDK, but that proved not to be the case once we saw the movie.

While a lot of third movies are awful, it's not the case all the time. Just depends on the filmmakers really. With a Nolan film I don't imagine that he will just somehow release a turd just because of the third movie curse. Everyone in the know and those who have seen it seem super enthusiastic about it. Bale loved the script according to that interview a while back.
It will definitely not be a letdown. I think at the worst we should only be afraid of it not being as good as the first two, but it's not going to be some catastrophe like Spider-man 3.

No it didn't. The curse only applies to franchises where the first sequel didn't suck noodles.
Doesn't count for movies where the second movie sucked or movies that were all shot back to back.
Movies with bad 2nd/follow ups dont count. Case in point - indy and last crusade. They come with lower expectations.
You either die a trilogy or live long enough to be spidey 3.

TLW wasn't that good. It was just an okay movie with some great moments but then some really shitty moments to balance it out.
And JP3 was worse.
That would imply JP2 never happened.
Got a Raptor on your tail? Find a little girl who is good at gymnastics.
JP2 is great, but JP3 is garbabe. Fun movie, but garbage.
And regarding Bourne:

X-Men suffered from the first entry, which is kind of unique I guess.
Rocky 2 was unnecessary. Rocky III and IV are more entertaining, even if they aren't technically sound films.
Austin Powers...don't really want to argue on that one. Enjoyed the first one. That's about it.

Now name me franchises that managed to recover from a terrible sequel and manage to put out a decent third one.
Die Hard 2 was not good.
Star Wars, Toy Story, and Bourne are the only ones I can think of where the third movie is at least good.

I find Identity easily the worse. Dat cheesy forced romantic subplot. Supremacy's probably the best, the two ending scenes are absolutely masterful. Ultimatum felt a bit rushed and slightly generic but I have a lot of love for it anyways, it delivered.

I 100% agree with you, but be prepared for:
- people complaining that it's not a proper trilogy (fuck these people)
- people saying For A Few Dollars More is better than The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly (fuck these people)
I wouldn't really consider them sequels though.

And gimme a break, GAF. Toy Story 3 wasn't nearly as good as TS1&2. It's like the only thing people remember is the ending.
Die Hard 2 wasn't a bad movie at all, but it was a significant dip in quality from the first. It certainly wasn't a GREAT sequel. Ergo, Die Hard series doesn't count.
