Considering that this whole thing is opinions vs opinions, I'm not quite sure if we're ever gonna come to an agreement about this Third Movie Curse thing.

Ultimatum was like a shitty remake of Supremacy.

Was I the only one who liked 4 more than 3 for Lethal Weapon?

1 > 2 > 4 > 3

You're not. You've also displayed the correct ranking for the entire series. Kudos.

Lethal Weapon 3 shit the bed. But even then it's good for a laugh every once in a while.

Agreed. Spiritual sequels don't count.

And gimme a break, GAF. Toy Story 3 wasn't nearly as good as TS1&2. It's like the only thing people remember is the ending.
The toys breaking out of the daycare center is more inventive and fun than their counterparts in 1 and 2, so no.

And personal opinions are kind of pointless in this discussion, TS3 is more critically revered than the first two and probably the same among the public (this also goes for Ultimatum and Return of the King).

Return of the King was filmed back to back with the others. Stop breaking the rules.

You're all just trying to deny the existence of the third movie curse. I know Nolan is aware of it. It's what initially stayed his hand. Gotta find dat interview.

Indiana Jones III was great. Fuck yall. So was RoTJ, just not as good as empire, but still good.

You're not reading the rules. Indy 3 WAS great. But Temple was shit compared to Raiders so the franchise doesn't count.

You said no spiritual sequels and no filming back to back. Raiders was the best, but ToD was not bad, and Crusaders was a great film. This does not break any rules. If these are your new stipulations, than The Dark Knight trilogy is automatically disqualified since many think BB is better than TDK. So it doesnt matter what people think about TDKR.

EDIT: Raiders/Crusade/ToD. But they are all good in their own ways.

This is what I said:

You find me a great third film in a franchise (not filmed back to back) where the first two films were GREAT and then the third one lived up to them.

Temple was not great. Certainly not following Raiders.

I also love Temple. Who's opinion do we believe!?!?

I compare the trilogy the same way as the original Star Wars trilogy. Instead, I swap the first two. Raiders = Empire / Temple = New Hope. The last entry was the lighthearted entry, except driven by Connery and Ford chemistry.

Chris O' Donnell is a great Robin. Just he didn't do much in Forever besides get caught.

I often wonder if it's in the same continuity with the first two movies.

Batman's attitude changed drastically, so did his car and methods of fighting crime (he didn't really kill people).

But there's vague references to the other two movies.

Though it was different in tone and style, it was still set after Batman Returns. There was a plan to bring back Jack Nicholson as the Joker (as a fear gas hallucination) for the next movie after Batman & Robin.

Yup I often wonder how it would be if Batman Triumphant/Batman DarkNight would have been made.

Dat adam west cameo

I belive its in the same continuity. That vague reference was at the start of Forever. The good doctor mentions something about a girl wearing skin tight spandex and a whip.

Also, rewatching Batman Begins. The second time he talks to Gordon - at his home - He says a storm is coming. Full circle, poetry, all hail Nolan, etc.

As much as I hate the Nostalgia Critic he's right, people talk way too much in this movies about everything.

Why must everything have a hidden meaning? lol.
