Kinda OT, but finally how is Gotham Knight? Is it the same quality as the Animatrix? Does it offers something trippy or historical like "The Second Renaissance"?

Not at all. Whatsoever. Total letdown

Haven't personally seen it, but I keep hearing that it's a massive disappointment.

just a rumor , but depp may play the riddler and philip seymour hoffman may play the penguin. (http://www.holymoly.co.uk/news/28/j...lay-the-riddler-in-next-batman-film-3842.html)

Philip Seymour Hoffman was 'rumoured' to be playing the Penguin in The Dark Knight, and we all know how that turned out;

Christopher 'God' Nolan said:
"I'd be more excited to have Philip Seymour Hoffman in the film than to have the Penguin. There are certain characters that are easier to mesh with the more real take on Batman we're doing. The Penguin would be tricky."

Whatever happens, Nolan will make his own decision. I don't think anyone even thought of Heath in the role of the Joker and look what happened there. Rumours and wishlists be damned, whoever Nolan chooses will be the the right choice.

Zeliard said:
If it's the Riddler, it has to be Johnny Depp or Michael Emerson. The universe will see to that.

But as far as the Penguin, I love PSH but I'm pretty sure Nolan said "no Penguin, ever".

yeah, i read an article where the writers said they dont want to use the penguin or catwoman.

FFVII. ;)

And how the heck are they "casting" for the TDK sequel already? From whence comes these rumors?

dabookerman said:
Yup, both are extremely satisfying and I feel they should make no more.

:3

And yet I think Nolan want to do one more because the way he's set things up his Batman is not the REAL Batman yet.

Batman works out of the Batcave beneath Wayne Manor. We know a new and improved Wayne Manor complete with proper Batcave is being constructed while The Dark Knight occurs. I think Nolan at least wants to leave the audience with the fully actualized, proper Batman complete with all of his trademark haunts and gadgets.

http://www.batman-on-film.com/batmovienews.html

6:42 AM TEXAS TIME: One of my old TDK insiders emailed in overnight to give us her/his insight into the use of Robin and Catwoman in BATMAN 3. This very in-the-know person says it's very unlikely that Chris Nolan would use Robin or Catwoman in a potential sequel. "The only way [Nolan would use Robin or Catwoman] is if Warners demanded it -- and if they're smart, that won't happen," says our gal/guy. She/He also informed us that the "cats" comment made by Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) to Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) meant absolutely nothing -- it is simply a tongue in cheek remark and nothing more. And one more thing, the "Mr. Reese = Mysteries" thing? Nothing there to see, time to move on...

I only like 2 of the 6 shorts, overall it was meh

I've never read the comics much, but is Hush really that good of a character? I mean, his reason for being a villian is because
Bruce's dad kept his mom alive? "Oh Bruce, I'm so jealous your parents are dead and mine aren't."
What a weak reason to hate someone.

Well his hatred was always supposed to be irrational and Tommy was always supposed to be crazy. A kid that plans to kill his parents so he could inherit their wealth isn't in the best state of mind to begin with. I think his hatred comes from Thomas Wayne stealing Tommy Elliot's dream from him, and to top it off, Bruce 'gets to have' what Tommy Elliot wanted.

I don't think Hush would work though.

If Nolan isn't going to do anymore classic villains then perhaps it will be Bane? Would be a nice change up too. None of the Nolan villains have been a physical match for Batman.

That's a great point actually.
Still, I mean, I love The Joker so much. I would feel sad watching a sequel :(

Bane is dumb. It's one thing I agree with Christopher on.

My favorite villains are:

Joker (duh)
Scarecrow (done twice sorta)
Ra's Al Ghul (dead)
TAS-Mr. Freeze (it'll never happen in a Nolanverse Batman flick)

Everyone else isn't quite as interesting. I like Catwoman too, but she's not really a villain these days. Besides, thieves are small-time after what the Joker did in Gotham.

This is one thing that surprised me about the movie, actually. I was really expecting to see the new Wayne Manor and batcave at some point in this film, especially since it's talked about so much at the end of Batman Begins. I guess there was just too much stuff going on in TDK to really fit it in :P

Michael Emerson as The Riddler is an amazing idea...whoever thought of it deserves a job in the movie industry. Seriously - this is one of the most logical ideas I've ever seen on GAF

How about Why So Serious? at about 1:36?

Or maybe at 1:10. People will think the Joker's just about ready to kill something.

Very nice observation. If we're going to see a fully-realized Batcave, it's going to be a major set-piece, and I can only count two or three villains where the Batcave became a major set-piece. Two of them were Bane and Azrael.

If Nolan's looking to leave the audience with the fully actualized, proper Batman, the end of the Bane/Azrael story arc is entirely the fully actualized, proper Batman...

That top picture is the most Heath Ledgerish I've ever seen of the Joker. What scene is that from?

I've watched this movie three times, and I still can't see Heath's face. He completely disappears.

From the OST

Dark Knight 10- And I thought my jokes were bad

Awesome track.

its not really heath, he is not dead.

I love the upper half of the new Batsuit. But the lower half just looks bad. You can really tell they aren't "plates", and even the design/placement of the "plates" doesn't made sense as far as functional armor goes.

Quick question:

When did Batman change his mind and go to save Harvey Dent instead of Rachel?

Gordon clearly asks him "which one are you going for" and Batman replies, "Rachel" to which Gordon responds, "then we'll get Dent." Couldn't both of them have been saved had they followed as planned?

It's probably already been answered but I'm not going to sort through 100 pages to find it.

Joker switched the addresses up on him, knowing he would save Rachel.

Joker switched the locations. He tricked them. When Batman shows up and sees Harvey instead of Rachel, there's about a second of hesitation, where he realizes he's been tricked.

Its a marathon, not a sprint. I for one was pleased for once in a comic book movie to see a belivable passage of time, which explained the lack of Wayne Manor and the caves.

That's from the bank scene isnt it? he's wearing his old suit in it

The most Ledger-ish face is when he's dressed as the cop and tries to shoot the mayor, but then again he's not wearing makeup in that scene :lol

He doesn't even look like Ledger there to me, which is freaky.

IMO, the only point at which the Joker looks even vaguely like Heath Ledger is during the prologue, right after he takes his mask off and says ".... stranger".

I agree on both parts. It looks like he just applied the makeup in the prologue. The part without makeup, he looks like some psychopath. Looks like the same transformation from Javier Bardem to Anton Chigurh.

I try, haha. But--in all seriousness--I do believe that FFVII is probably the closest that a game has come to matching the level of engagement brought on by a film, and it's easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Even in the firing squad scene during Lobe's funeral, it's still kind of hidden by the infamous scars. You can tell it's Ledger, but the scars definitely change the way you see him.

I think the scene where he's not wearing the make-up is the scariest Joker looks in the movie since you were not expecting him at all without the make-up.

Totally agree. I was like WHOA!

I always thought it was totally creepy that we got to see The Joker without his make-up--and in broad daylight, no less. Really characteristic of Heath's Joker, though.

I'm surprising no one said or noticed anything, it's not like he tried to hide the scars.

Great comparison with Bardem/Chigurh. If you look at a pic of Javier Bardem offset just chillin', he just looks like a typically normal guy. Same with Heath Ledger. But they transform themselves so utterly in their respective roles that they're almost unrecognizable. Bardem in No Country looks like Death personified (the haircut admittedly helps). Heath as the Joker, without clown makeup, looks like a psychotic killer.
