He did, Batman killed Harvey took the blame for his killings and broke Harvey .
What were all the killings that Harvey did? I can only think of the cop in the bar, and Maroney and his driver, but Gordon says that Harvey killed 5 people, and 2 of those were cops.

Did someone get banned earlier on this thread for just saying that they've seen a bootleg of the film? Is that the rule now - you're not allowed to even say that you've seen a bootlegged version? Just wondering.

Hospital cop and Harvey Dent.

my understanding was:

1. wuerts in the bar
2. maroni
3. maroni's driver
4. cop in the hospital
5* whoever was supposed to be in the car when maroni got in

* got the last one from that link few posts above where supposed plot holes are unanswered.

Don't ask don't tell, as far as I'm concerned it's how it's handled.

Hm. Good point about that guy. He could've just knocked him out though, since he was killing based on a coin toss (and with a gun).

Hmm, that's interesting. I assumed the Joker killed that cop since Harvey was sitting in a hospital bed. Anyways, thanks for answering that. It has been bugging me for a while haha.

All Gordon says is, "five dead? Two of them cops" No one knows that Joker was in the hospital aside from the dead cop and Harvey, so they probably assume it's Harvey that did it.

People get banned for admitting they play pirated games, shouldn't the same go for movies?

/Just guessing is all.

It's hard to say, but if you look closely as Maroni starts to get into the car, you can see the other guy get jumped for a split second.

What it really depends on is if that guy was a cop, and if Dent had suddenly resorted to killing without using his gun.

There were two cops in the hospital, guys. One was standing by )he got killed off screen by the Joker) and the other guy who got killed by the Joker when he went in to check on the other cop. I don't think Gordon knew about Wuertz.

Ah, I didn't realize that, either. Thanks.

Ok, for the DVD or something, I wish they got The Joker to do standup, or some fucked-up dance or some shit. Also, The Joker's origin stories about the scars freaked me out, until I realized he just lied everytime.

I believe the "Five dead, two of them cops" is this:

(1) Wuertz (even though he was off, the police could have tried to contact him through radio and he wouldn't have obviously answered giving the impression that he was probably dead)
(2) Maroni
(3) Maroni's driver
(4) Maroni's unnamed passenger
(5) Ramirez (remember, she didn't die but Gordon might think she's dead - she betrayed him and his family because of Dent's threat and now won't answer her radio)

Dent cant be one of them. Gordon says Dent killed 5.

Well, then I'd probably replace him with the guy that got pulled over at Maroni's car. I can just imagine Dent flipping the coin to see if Maroni's passenger would live before subduing the passenger to get in the car with Maroni.

Ramirez stands though, it makes sense for her to be the cop instead of the one in the hospital that would inevitably blow up because of The Joker.

Mark Sheppard might make a good Riddler...

Went to see it at the Amsterdam Imax today and thoroughly enjoyed it. After sitting through a torturing 10 minutes or so of mediocre trailers the screen widened to the full Imax image, and after all my hope was lost, i see the Legendary Pictures logo over grey clouds and HEAR that massive bass kicking in. This was the cherry on the pie. I cannot wait for Watchmen.

The movie had so much development, i couldn't believe how much had gone past when the ending came. Heath Ledger's and Aaron Eckhart's performances are absolutely fenomenal, and i'm sad to never see the former play his part again, hoping to see the latter reprise his role very soon. Christian Bale and Maggie Gylenhaal are definitely on their game, but Ledger and Eckhart just outshine them.

Strangely, i'm not still not sure whether or not this is Nolan's magnum opus, and if the film truly deserves all the praise it has received. It definitely has it's weak moments, but i'll withhold my criticism until i've had some repeated viewings. Which means i'm going to see it again this week. It's definitely deserving of my money (atleast thrice, counting the bluray release), which i can't say for a lot of the new films i see throughout the year.

At first I was kind of upset that Maggie wasn't as good as Katie, but in retrospect fuck Katie...she ruined the continuity.

I don't really like Maggie, but she was definitely an upgrade from Katie. God she was so wooden in Begins.

Wasn't as good?

Maggie's acting blew Katie's away.

Her acting in the tumbler while under the fear toxin was Oscar worthy.

The scenes shot in IMAX look great and everything, but the real draw of IMAX, I think, is the sound. Everything just sounds so visceral and real. You really can't get the same thing at an average movie theater.

"You don't get to savor the... *lick* ...little emotions."

Why not? They are no name because in the "the biz" you have to work your way up and pay your dues.
they are level 0. Lead bad guy in Batman 3 is like level 100. Not a chance in hell.

I just saw it one mo' gin.

Noticed something this time w/ the citywide sonar.

Batman was symbolically doing what Alfred had to do to find their thief years ago.

He was "burning the forest".

Man, I love this movie.

Just saw this. You know what? I really wanted the Joker to win. You know the part with Joker sticking his head out the cop car window, smile on his face? I wanted the movie to end right there.
It also doesn't help that Batman is a real pansy in this movie. Bale makes a fine Wayne, but his Batman is downright boring. Also the old guy backing down from blowing up the prisoners is too out of nowhere. Dent is a hollow victory without at least one boat blowing up.

Only really disappointing thing in the movie was the ugly Katie Holmes replacement. I know Katie can't really act, but at least she looked good. Every time they said "gorgeous" or whatever in this movie, I was like "euhm wtf?"

Let's not go through this again.

I'm having an argument with people on another board about whether Dent is dead or not. I showed them that picture of the script and everything and they still didn't believe me.

This is going to piss me off until the 3rd one comes out and people finally will shutup about him still being alive :(

Just saw it a few hours ago.

LOVED it. The dialogue, imagery, plot... so so good. The film didn't move me emotionally or anything (last time that happened was with the other film with a Ledger and a Gyllenhaal), but it's certainly the best movie I've seen in a long time.

I won't watch it again in theaters, but sign me up for the BD version.

What's amazing is how many people are going back to see the film a second and even third time JUST to see The Joker(HL) in action again. Like a 1 man movie :D

I'm not going to get into "levelz" but there are certainly "lists" (A-list, B-list, etc.) and yeah, Batman 3 will get an A list actor/actress for the main villain. It's not going to be about "Small Time Actor X Looks Like Y Batman Villain in this Role" that is going to determine who plays whomever the villain is for the next film. It will be acting chops and Nolan's vision on what the character should be.
